Bachar-d Luck

Level 19 : 5,000/10,000, 1,000 ante

Josef Bachar was knocked down to just 50,000 after a fortunate short-stacked Philippe Boucher outdrew his {J-Spades}{J-Clubs} with {A-Hearts}{6-Clubs} (all in preflop). The flop brought the {A-Clubs}{4-Diamonds}{7-Spades} and the turn and river came {Q-Diamonds}{8-Spades} leaving Bachar shaking his head and embracing the felt.

Boucher is up to 240,000.

Michael Friedrich moved all in for his last 60,000 on the button, Juan Maceiras pushed out a 100,000 stack of chips and Josef Bachar made the call all in from the big blind.

Maceiras: {Q-Hearts}{10-Clubs}
Michael Friedrich: {Q-Clubs}{9-Diamonds}
Josef Bachar: {J-Hearts}{8-Diamonds}

The board came {K-Spades}{k-Hearts}{7-Diamonds}{3-Hearts}{4-Hearts} and surprisingly Maceiras' queen-ten high was still good. The Spanish Team Pro is on about one million now.

Can't see the Forrest for the leaves...

Ted Forrest was all in for his final 56,000, pushing from the cutoff and Eric van den Berg made the call on the button. The five-time bracelet winning pro was in trouble when he turned over {A-Spades}{2-Diamonds} and the Dutch player turned over {J-Hearts}{J-Clubs}.

The board ran out {J-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds}{7-Hearts}{9-Spades}{6-Spades} and Forrest stood up and said, "Good playing with you guys," before heading over to the payout desk.

Fursov Not Off Yet

Level 20 : 6,000/12,000, 1,000 ante

Vasily Fursov can't have had a pleasant dinner break - he was on just 64,000 when the players took their repast. He wasted no time in getting his microstack in upon returning to the tournament, and got a call from Thomas Pettersson. He was behind.

Fursov: {8-Spades}{9-Diamonds}
Pettersson: {a-Diamonds}{j-Diamonds}

Board: {k-Spades}{k-Hearts}{2-Spades}{4-Spades}{5-Spades}

Fursov sat back down as he rivered a flush to stay in the game. He's still in some trouble though - he doubled up to 130,000, less than 11 big blinds. Pettersson is rather higher than him, although actually still below average, on 420,000.
