Engel Dusts Duhamel

Jonathan Duhamel - out
Jonathan Duhamel - out

From middle position, Ari Engel opened to 5,300, and Jonathan Duhamel three-bet to 12,700. Engel was undeterred, though, and he made another raise to 22,800 total. Duhamel's response was an insta-shove, and the insta-call came -- well, instantly. Engel had the 137,000 covered by a bit, so it was the former World Champ at risk as the cards were rolled over.

Showdown
Engel: {A-Spades} {K-Spades}
Duhamel: {J-Hearts} {2-Hearts}

Well, it was a misstep, but Duhamel was still drawing live for a big double. Engel managed to fade the six outs, though, and the {3-Spades} {Q-Diamonds} {Q-Clubs} {4-Spades} {10-Clubs} board sent him the pot. With it comes the elimination of Duhamel, out in the last half hour of Day 2.

Pahuja Out

Mads Amot raised to 5,200 from middle position and Sebastien Boyard called from the next seat before play folded to Vinny Pahuja on the button. He reraised all in for 33,700. Play folded back to Amot and he gave it up. Boyard tanked for a bit and then made the call.

Boyard: {10-Spades}{10-Diamonds}
Pahuja: {A-Diamonds}{Q-Clubs}

The board ran out {K-Clubs}{7-Clubs}{4-Hearts}{10-Clubs}{Q-Spades} and Pahuja was eliminated.

Peters Doubles Through McDonald

Mike McDonald
Mike McDonald

Mike McDonald raised to 5,200 from the cutoff seat before Sharon Volfer flat-called from the button. In the big blind was David Peters and he reraised all in for 64,000. McDonald took some time and then reshoved. Volfer folded.

McDonald tabled the {A-Hearts}{9-Spades} and was against the {Q-Diamonds}{J-Spades} for Peters.

The flop of {K-Clubs}{10-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds} gave Peters a straight draw before the {J-Clubs} on the turn gave him a pair. From there, he held the lead as the {3-Hearts} landed on the river and completed the board.

Peters doubled to over 135,000 while McDonald was knocked back to that same amount.

MacPhee Busts in Massive Hand

Kevin MacPhee
Kevin MacPhee

Well, that's all she wrote for Kevin MacPhee in his quest for a second EPT title. We missed the action, but we did see that MacPhee was all in preflop in a massive pot worth over half a million chips with the {K-Clubs}{K-Spades}. He was up against Garri Tevosov's {Q-Clubs}{Q-Diamonds}.

Tevosov spiked a queen on the turn as the board ran out {5-Clubs}{4-Clubs}{3-Diamonds}{Q-Spades}{9-Hearts} and sent MacPhee to the rail.

Wigg Trimmed, Grows Back

Anton Wigg
Anton Wigg

On the last hand of the last level, Anton Wigg lost about half his stack to a coin flip, but things have rebounded nicely here for the Swede.

He'd already doubled once to about 125,000 this level, and he just found another chance to get his chips in. It happened in a preflop tangle with Roman Romanovski, and Wigg was the one doing the shoving on a five-bet. It was 122,500 total, and Romanovski made the call with the covering stack.

Showdown
Wigg: {K-Diamonds} {Q-Hearts}
Romanovski: {A-Hearts} {K-Hearts}

Wigg was in the worst shape, but things would improve in a hurry. The dealer blessed him with a {5-Clubs} {Q-Spades} {K-Spades} flop, and Romanovski was less than thrilled to see the two pair. He could not catch back up on the {10-Diamonds} turn or {4-Diamonds} river, and he's been forced to part with a significant chunk of his stack.

From about 60,000 to start the level, Wigg has worked his count up to about 225,000 now. He and Romanovski have traded facial expressions and stack sizes.

Three More Hands

Level 14 : 1,200/2,400, 300 ante

We love when they draw one of the low cards, and the three that was pulled means we'll play that many more hands at each table before bagging up for the night.
