Top Pair Good For Bar-Yosef

Level 3 : 100/200, 0 ante

Yotam Bar-Josef has just called down David Vamplew to discover that his top pair was the best hand all along.

In the hand Vitaly Grigoryev opened the betting with a raise to 525 from under the gun. Bar-Josef called in the cutoff, Jesper Höög called from the small blind and Vamplew called in the big blind. The flop came down {9-Diamonds}{4-Clubs}{Q-Diamonds}, Höög checked, Vamplew checked, Grigoryev checked but Bar-Yosef bet 900. Höög called but Vamplew made it 3,375 to play. This was enough to fold out Grigoryev and Höög but Bar-Yosef made the call.

The dealer put the {2-Hearts} out on the turn and Vamplew made a bet of 4,150, which Bar-Yosef called relatively quickly. The river brought the {2-Spades} into play, Vamplew checked and his opponent instantly checked behind.

Vamplew: {10-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds}
Bar-Yosef: {K-Diamonds}{Q-Clubs}

Vamplew down to 21,000.
