Kurganov Leaves Himself Short

Level 5 : 150/300, 25 ante

Igot Kurganov is down to 13,000 chips after calling large bets preflop and on the flop, only to fold on a seemingly harmless turn.

It was Kurganov who opened the betting, his raise to 700 from the cutoff designed to pick up the blinds and antes. The raise was enough to fold out the button but not small blind Yury Romanovich who made it 2,625 to continue in the hand. Kurganov made the call and the dealer got busy fanning out the {10-Diamonds}{7-Spades}{Q-Clubs} flop.

Romanovich bet four red 1,000 chips and Kurganov made the call after just a few seconds. The turn was the {2-Hearts} and Romanovich saw no reason to slow down and increased his bet to 7,000, which sent his opponent into the tank. The bet was effectively putting Kurganov all in as he only had 13,000 behind and it appears he did not want to play for stacks as he folded after around aminute of deliberation.
