Yorane Kerignard Eliminated in 6th Place (€130,000)

Yorane Kerignard - 6th place
Yorane Kerignard - 6th place

Yorane Kerignard had raised two hands in a row (including that big double on the last one), and on the third, he limped in from the small blind. In the big, though, Dimitar Danchev raised it up to 240,000, and the rest of the action came rather quickly. Kerignard shoved in, Danchev snapped, and the cards were on their backs.

Showdown
Kerignard: {3-Hearts} {3-Diamonds}
Danchev: {A-Diamonds} {J-Diamonds}

Kerignard was the one at risk, and he needed his little pair to hold strong to keep him alive. The flop came {A-Spades} {A-Clubs} {9-Clubs}, though, and it was Danchev with a huge lead, two cards from the knockout. The turn {6-Hearts} and river {7-Clubs} failed to provide the two-out salvation for Kerignard, and he has been sent off in 6th place. That's good for €130,000.

Danchev is now in contention for the chip lead, less than a million chips behind the Aussie.

Pateychuk Doubles Through Neilson

Andrey Pateychuk was all in preflop for 1.91 million in chips against Daniel Neilson. Pateychuk min-raised from the cutoff seat before Neilson shoved from the small blind. Pateychuk called and held the {A-Diamonds}{K-Clubs}. Neilson held a dominated {A-Clubs}{7-Diamonds}.

The flop, turn and river ran out {A-Diamonds}{K-Clubs}{2-Clubs}{K-Spades}{10-Clubs} and Pateychuk doubled up.

Rocco Palumbo Eliminated in 7th Place (€95,000)

Rocco Palumbo - 7th Place
Rocco Palumbo - 7th Place

Rocco Palumbo raised all in for 645,000 and Jan Bendik called from the small blind. Palumbo tabled the {K-Clubs}{Q-Spades} and was flipping for his tournament life with the {5-Hearts}{5-Diamonds} for Bendik.

The flop came down {J-Diamonds}{5-Clubs}{2-Clubs} and that wasn't good news for Palumbo. Bendik picked up a set of fives and really put a strangle hold on this hand.

The turn was the {7-Spades} and left Palumbo drawing dead. The river completed the board with the {6-Diamonds}.

Chips Again

Neilson Check-Raises Thin

Wow.

We picked up the action on a {A-Hearts} {7-Clubs} {8-Spades} flop after Daniel Neilson had raised to 160,000 from the hijack seat and Yorane Kerignard called from the button. Neilson fired 250,000 and Kerignard called.

The {7-Hearts} landed on the turn and both players checked to see the {9-Spades} land on the river. Neilson checked and Kerignard bet 230,000. Neilson took some time and then snuck in a check-raise to 1.1 million straight.

Kerignard took a long while considering the decision for about half his remaining stack, but he eventually couldn't help himself. He forced the call into the pot, and he immediately cringed at the sight of Neilson's cards. It was {A-Spades} {Q-Clubs} that appeared on the other side of the felt, and the Frenchman mucked his cards.

He's left with just about 1.8 million chips now.

Kerignard Picks a Good Spot

Dimitar Danchev raised to 175,000 under the gun, and Daniel Neilson three-bet to 415,000 on the button. Action came to Yorane Kerignard next, and he quickly shoved all in on a cold four-bet. It was 2.15 million total, and Danchev quickly ducked out. Neilson, though, was getting a good price, and he thought it over for a long while before surrendering as well.
