Williams Movin' On Up

Level 6 : 200/400, 50 ante
David Williams
David Williams

We infer David Williams was the preflop raiser based on position, but we didn't pick up the action until a four-way flop brought {4-Diamonds} {9-Hearts} {4-Spades}. Williams put out the first bet of 2,500, and Dmitry Grishin and Rocco Palumbo called before the action came back around to Pierangelo Bonometti in the big blind. He check-raised to 7,000 total, but Williams raised it right back up to 11,500. That folded the two monkeys in the middle, and Bonometti shook his head and surrendered as well.

Williams has moved to about 60,000 chips with that pot -- 60,025 by our count.

Cheong Busts Garcia

Action folded to Govert Metaal in the cutoff seat and he raised to 950. On the button, Kyle Cheong reraised to 2,400. Myro Garcia reraised all in from the small blind for 6,575. Play folded back to Metaal and he gave it up. Cheong quickly called and tabled the {A-Spades}{A-Clubs}. Garcia held the {10-Hearts}{10-Spades}.

The board ran out {K-Diamonds}{6-Clubs}{4-Hearts}{A-Hearts}{K-Clubs} and Cheong sent Garcia packing.

Harman and Johnson Chop

Level 7 : 250/500, 50 ante

Jen Harman fired a bet of 1,600 on the {A-Diamonds}{Q-Diamonds}{7-Spades} flop with Kyle Johnson making the call. The turn brought the {Q-Spades} to pair the pair and both players checked through to see the {7-Clubs} add another pair on the river. Harman checked and Johnson checked behind.

Harman tabled the {K-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds} for a busted flush draw that was playing the board. Johnson tabled a counterfeited {6-Clubs}{6-Hearts} and the two players chopped up the pot.

The Lesson Here Is...

Level 7 : 250/500, 50 ante

Pay attention to the action!

Udo Tran came into the pot limping in early position, and action came to Salvatore Sproviero. He made a raise to 1,200, and Tran made the call. After which Sproviero mucked his hand. He didn't see Tran call behind him, and the dealer pulled his cards into the garbage pile before he realized what he did. Time to summon the floor.

Our Italian is certainly not up to par, but we know the ruling already here. It's the player's responsibility to protect his cards in nearly every situation, and Sproviero had to forfeit the chips and the pot. It's a gift for Tran, and he showed pocket sixes for good measure.

D'Angelo Can't Beat a Set from Tarallo

From under the gun, Angelo Tarallo raised to 1,100. Play folded over to 2010 PokerStars Caribbean Adventure third-place finisher Ryan D'Angelo in the hijack seat and he made the call. Everyone else folded.

The flop came down {9-Diamonds}{6-Hearts}{5-Hearts} and Tarallo fired 2,000. D'Angelo called.

The turn brought the {10-Hearts} and Tarallo kept on the gas. He bet 5,000. D'Angelo didn't go anywhere and made the call to see the river.

Fifth street was the {A-Spades} and Tarallo checked. D'Angelo checked behind.

Tarallo tabled the {5-Diamonds}{5-Spades} for a set of fives. D'Angelo couldn't show better and mucked his hand.
