MacPhee Grabs the Lead!

A huge pot on the main table!

Kevin MacPhee was all in before the flop for 1.742 million, and he was tangling with the chip leader, Chris McClung. MacPhee was showing up {A-Spades} {K-Clubs}, and that had McClung's {A-Clubs} {Q-Spades} crushed.

The {10-Hearts} {J-Diamonds} {3-Clubs} flop reversed the outs for the two men, and now McClung was looking for one of MacPhee's kings to make Broadway. The turn {A-Hearts} was a blank, though, and the river {2-Clubs} was even blanker.

In the biggest pot we've seen yet, MacPhee has put his name atop the leaderboard with a huge double. He's up over 3.5 million now, while McClung falls back into the pack with 1.6 million -- just about average.

More For Gastaldi

In early position, Patrick Gastaldi opened to 70,000, and Andrey Pateychuk three-bet to 167,000 in the small blind. Gastaldi made a firm call, and he called another 206,000 after the {5-Clubs} {A-Hearts} {3-Diamonds} flop. They were content to check it down behind the {8-Clubs} turn and {5-Diamonds} river, and Pateychuk showed up {Q-Diamonds} {Q-Clubs}. It was second-best now, though, and Gastaldi's {A-Clubs} {9-Clubs} locked up another pot.

Gastaldi Doubles Again

Patrick Gastaldi has just found a double for the second time this level.

The pot began with Dimitar Danchev raising to 65,000, and Gastaldi three-bet to 200,000 right next door. Danchev tanked and shoved, and Gastaldi couldn't wait to get his chips into the pot. The speed was such that Danchev figured he had aces or kings, but as it turned out, it was just a coinflip.

Showdown
Danchev: {Q-Spades} {Q-Hearts}
Gastaldi: {A-Clubs} {K-Hearts}

The {5-Clubs} {A-Hearts} {3-Diamonds} flop was money in the bank for the at-risk Gastaldi, and he faded the {3-Diamonds} turn and {3-Clubs} river to earn his double. The two men have essentially swapped stacks now.

Big Double for Pateychuk

Andrey Pateychuk raised from under the gun plus one to 60,000 and Yorane Kerignard called from the big blind to see the flop come down {10-Spades}{8-Hearts}{6-Hearts}. Kerignard checked and Pateychuk bet 80,000. Kerignard made the call.

The turn was the {J-Clubs} and the fireworks were about to go off. First, Kerignard checked. Then, Pateychuk bet 187,000. Kerignard tried to check-raise to 367,000, but he was a little bit short and had to make it at least 374,000. He did. Then, Pateychuk reraised all in for 1.118 million. Kerignard called.

Kerignard: {J-Hearts}{10-Clubs}
Pateychuk: {8-Diamonds}{8-Spades}

The top two pair for Kerignard was behind the set of eights for Pateychuk going to the river. The last card to the board was the {7-Clubs} and Pateychuk had successfully doubled up.

One for Danchev

Level 25 : 15,000/30,000, 4,000 ante

Action folded to Barny Boatman in the small blind and he limped in. Dimitar Danchev checked his option in the big bind and the flop came down {K-Diamonds}{K-Spades}{6-Diamonds}. Boatman bet 30,000 and Danchev called.

The turn was the {J-Clubs} and Boatman checked. Danchev bet 85,000 and Boatman folded.

Gianluca Cedolia Eliminated in 16th place (€22,000)

On a {4-Clubs} {J-Clubs} {A-Spades} flop, we picked up three-way action as Gianluca Cedolia knocked the table out of position. Lex Veldhuis bet 75,000 and Barny Boatman raised to 175,000 behind him, and Cedolia shoved all in for about 650,000. That folded Veldhuis without incident, but Boatman made the relatively easy call with {A-Hearts} {4-Hearts}. Cedolia was working with {K-Clubs} {8-Clubs} for the flush draw, and he needed to hit to stay alive.

The turn {2-Diamonds} was a brick, and the river {Q-Diamonds} was red, too. Unable to find a club, Cedolia has been knocked out of this Main Event in 16th place.
