Thorson Hears a Who

Level 7 : 250/500, 50 ante
William Thorson
William Thorson

We won't admit that we just now found William Thorson today, but we will tell you about the hand we watched him play. It began with Robert Mizrachi opening to 1,225 and Thorson calling, but Fabio Montrucchio squeezed in a reraise to 4,000 from the big blind. Both Mizrachi and Thorson came along to the {K-Spades} {4-Diamonds} {J-Spades} flop, and Montrucchio bet another 7,900. Once again, he could not shake either opponent loose, and the turn brought the {10-Diamonds}. Montrucchio moved all in over both players, so Mizrachi tanked and folded. Thorson, though, only had 3,475 chips left by that point, and he quickly committed to put himself at risk. He was well ahead.

Showdown
Thorson: {J-Diamonds} {J-Clubs}
Montrucchio: {A-Spades} {A-Clubs}

The river {4-Hearts} secured Thorson's near-triple up. He's up to 43,450 now.
