Zaichenko Spikes River to Bust Kelly

JP Kelly (Day 2)
JP Kelly (Day 2)

From middle position, JP Kelly raised to 12,000. Andrey Zaichenko three-bet out of the big blind to 33,000 and Kelly called to take a flop.

The dealer produced the {9-Clubs}{8-Spades}{6-Spades} and Zaichenko continued with a bet of 51,000. Kelly called.

Fourth street was the {Q-Diamonds} and Zaichenko fired all in for over 240,000. Kelly had 204,000 behind and went into the tank. After a couple of minutes, Kelly made the call and put his tournament life on the line. He held the {J-Hearts}{9-Hearts} for a pair of nines and was up against the {A-Spades}{K-Spades} for Zaichenko.

The river delivered a flush for Zaichenko with the {4-Spades} hitting and he won the pot. Kelly passed over his chips and headed towards the payout desk.

Hakim Busts Schlegl

Jeff Hakim has a few cashes on the European Poker Tour including a 16th-place finish in this event last year for €23,000. He just picked up two hands to move up to 285,000 in chips. Here's the action.

On the first hand of the two, Hakim raised to 12,500 from the cutoff seat and found callers in Will Molson from the small blind and Javier Etayo from the big blind. All three players checked the {5-Hearts}{4-Clubs}{2-Clubs} flop before seeing the {4-Hearts} pair the board on the turn. Action checked over to Hakim and he bet 20,500. Both his opponents folded and Hakim won the pot.

Shortly thereafter, Hakim was all in preflop with a short-stacked August Schlegl. Hakim held the {K-Diamonds}{Q-Spades} to Schlegl's {A-Diamonds}{8-Spades}. The flop produced a king and Hakim held from there to knock Schlegl out of the tournament.

Ishak Noyan Unhappy With The Free Publicity

Level 18 : 3,000/6,000, 500 ante

The EPT berlin is being given the full production treatment and that means whenever there is an all in and call the TV crew is summonsed to the table to record the action.

Ishak Noyan's tables must have been quite active because he just entered a huge rant, part of which saying, "We're playing here for €800,000 and it's too much to wait for the TV cameras all the time. We have only played 10 hands in the last 30 minutes."

Ironically this took place with a TV camera in his face, so keep an eye out for it in a PokerStars production on a screen near you soon!

MacPhee Claims Another Scalp

Kevin MacPhee
Kevin MacPhee

Kevin MacPhee is up to 500,000 chips after sending Dmitry Bayramov to the rail in a hand just now.

Andreas Vlachos opened the betting with a raise to 13,500 from the cutoff only to hear Bayramov announce "I am all-in," whilst moving his stack forward. The small blind got out of the way but MacPhee asked how much the all-in bet was for. 113,000 came the reply from the dealer.

"I'm all in as well," said MacPhee, "360" referring to his stack size. Vlachos played up a little for the cameras but after a quick squeeze of his stress-ball he let his hand go.

Bayramov: {A-Diamonds}{10-Spades}
MacPhee: {J-Clubs}{J-Hearts}

MacPhee sat looking away from the pot, almost as if he was gauging where he was in the hand based on the reaction of Bayramov. He must have been pleased to see Bayramov exhale deeply when the flop came down {5-Spades}{6-Hearts}{4-Clubs}. The {10-Hearts} was the turn card followed by the {K-Spades} on the river and with that Bayramov was busted out, MacPhee shook his hand and Bayramov headed to the cashier's desk to pick up his winnings.
