Which Play Was Worse?

Illan Boujenah lost a pot to Ivan Tikhov and then berated the Russian for his play. The very next hand Boujenah doubled through Frederik Jensen, who in turn, wasn't too impressed with how the diminutive player played his hand. We'll let you make up your own mind.

In the first hand Tikhov squeezed all-in for 433,000 with {j-Hearts}{9-Hearts} over the top of a Jensen open and Boujenah call. Jensen folded but Boujenah called with {9-Clubs}{9-Diamonds}. The Russian called specifically for the {j-Spades} and he got just that on the {j-Spades}{6-Hearts}{a-Diamonds}{6-Clubs}{4-Diamonds} board. Boujenah left the table, cursed, and slammed his hands down on a far table.

The next hand Boujenah three-bet, five-bet all-in against Jensen, who called with {j-Hearts}{j-Clubs}. Boujenah opened {a-Spades}{q-Hearts} and got there on the {a-Diamonds}{2-Clubs}{9-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds}{7-Clubs} board. Jensen politely pointed out that Boujenah played the really badly and Boujenah defended himself.

Clatyon Mozdzen Eliminated in 14th Place (€20,000)

Clayton Mozdzen - 14th place
Clayton Mozdzen - 14th place

While we were catching up on the action, Clayton Mozdzen went broke in a quiet pot at the featured table. He got his short stack in on a coin flip with two sevens against ace-jack.

An ace on the flop was just about all she wrote for the Canadian, and he could not catch back up to stay alive. He's out in 14th place for €20,000.

Navarrete Short

Juan Navarrate is the second shortest stack, and he found a spot to get it in there. The table folded around to his button, and he moved in for just about 330,000. The blinds let him off the hook.

Stealing the blinds and antes adds 57,000 chips to Navarrete's stack — a significant increase at this point. He was the chip leader back on Day 1b, but he's going to have to find some chips in a hurry if he's going to parlay that into a final table run today.

McDonald: {A-Hearts}{8-Spades}
Ibañez: {6-Clubs}{6-Spades}

The board came {A-Clubs}{9-Clubs}{9-Diamonds}{K-Hearts}{3-Clubs} and McDonald doubled up to the relative safety of 800,000

Jensen Gets Lucky

Frederik Jensen raised to 50,000 preflop and Fraser Macintyre made it 125,000 out of the blinds. Jensen moved all in and Macintyre snap-called, it was as simple as that.

Jensen: [TsT]
Macintyre: {A-Hearts}{A-Diamonds}

Jensen was in trouble but the board helped him, coming {2-Spades}{8-Spades}{5-Clubs}{9-Spades}{K-Spades} and he doubled to just under a million.

Taylor Paur Eliminated in 13th Place (€20,000)

Taylor Paur - 13th place
Taylor Paur - 13th place

Mike McDonald opened with an under-the-gun raise, and Taylor Paur three-bet shoved from the blinds. It was 446,000 total, and McDonald made the call for about half his stack with a chance at the knockout.

Showdown
McDonald: {9-Clubs} {9-Spades}
Paur: {A-Spades} {5-Spades}

Paur was in trouble, and he'd not be able to catch up. The board ran out {10-Hearts} {2-Clubs} {8-Hearts} {10-Spades} {4-Spades}. Paur is out in 13th place, and the comeback is on for McDonald. That knockout moves him up to around 1.4 million.

Boujenah the Bully

Ilan Boujenah sure can bully opponents for a small man. He was one of two callers after Jason Duval raised to 50,000 from under the gun.

The flop came down {3-Hearts}{9-Diamonds}{8-Clubs} and Boujenah was the first to add more chips, when he bet 77,000. Duval called and also check-called a 140,000 bet on the {10-Hearts} turn to head to the {j-Diamonds} river. Boujenah bet 210,000 and his Canadian opponent admitted defeat by check-folding.
