Chouity Flushes Out Selbst

We joined the action over on the table where Vanessa Selbt, Martin Finger and Nicolas Chouity call home to find Selbst checking to Chouity on a {9-Diamonds}{8-Spades}{A-Spades}{4-Spades} board. Chouity took a stab at the pot with a 3,625 bet and after 45-seconds or so Selbst made the call.

The river was the {5-Diamonds} and Selbst checked once again but Chouity did not check behind, instead he bet again but increased the size to 6,650 which gave Selbst something to think about. She sat thinking for a solid couple of minutes, riffling black 100 chips as she did so. Then all of a sudden she stopped the riffling and tossed in the chips needed to call but instantly wished she didn't when she saw the {7-Spades}{6-Spades} of her opponent.

David Vamplew Has Quads Paid Off

Former EPT London champion David Vamplew has smashed through the 100,000 chips barrier and could be the chip leader here in Campione.

We joined the action on a {J-Clubs}{8-Clubs}{9-Spades} flop where Giuseppe Dario Sammartino had checked from the small blind, Stefan Huber had checked in the hijack and Vamplew had bet 1,925 from the cutoff. The only player to call Vamplew's bet was Sammartino so it was heads-up to the {9-Hearts} turn.

Sammartinto checked over to Vamplew who then studied his opponent for a few moments before betting 4,700. You could see Sammartino going through the hand in his head, occasionally looking at Vamplew, before making the call.

The {3-Spades} river completed the board and the action was again checked to Vamplew. He paused for a couple of moments before betting enough blue 5,000 chips to set his opponent all-in; the effective bet being 15,450. Sammartino sat there for over two minutes before making the call, only to look like he had been shot when Vamplew flipped over {9-Clubs}{9-Diamonds} for quad nines!

Must be nice.

Bein of His Life

Vladmir Geshkenbein is not a happy bunny, in fact it's safe to say he's more like the murderous bunny from Monty Python and the Holy Grail.

Robin Vlitalo had opened to 800 preflop with one caller before Geshkenbein had raised to 2,900 out of the blinds. Vlitalo made it 6,700 and the caller folded but Geshkenbein repopped it with a five-bet to 15,000, the Swede moved all in but his opponent sighed and made the call.

Geshkenbein saw Vlitalo's face drop a little and said, "You're not happy about your hand? I'm not that happy either..."

Geshkenbein: {J-Hearts}{J-Diamonds}
Vlitalo: {A-Hearts}{6-Diamonds}

The Russian asked if anyone had folded an ace but it didn't help, there was one straight away on the flop when the board came {A-Diamonds}{7-Spades}{3-Spades}{10-Hearts}{K-Spades} - Vlitalo was all in for 55,000 and doubled up while Geshkenbein was left fuming with a short stack.

Break Time

Level 6 : 200/400, 50 ante

There is a short break while the two groups of players swap over. Tables 1-14 will be back to play level 6 shortly.

Elder Versus the Elder Statesman

ElkY is like the elder statesman of the EPT, and he just battled and beat a man named Elder.

Former EPT San Remo champion Rupert Elder raised to 850 from the cut-off and was only called by ElkY on the button. The flop came {3-Diamonds}{6-Hearts}{j-Hearts} and Elder continued for 1,400. Call.

Both players checked the {10-Clubs} turn before ElkY called the Brit's 3,100 bet on the {7-Hearts} river. Elder opened and then threw his {8-Hearts}{8-Diamonds} muck-bound as his French opponent showed {q-Clubs}{j-Diamonds}.
