The Olivier Awards

Olivier Busquet opened to 500 preflop and then called Leonardo Patacconi's three-bet to 1,325 to see a {Q-Hearts}{J-Clubs}{8-Hearts} flop.

Busquet led for 1,000 and Patacconi made it 6,500, Busquet was quickly all in and Patacconi called.

Busquet: {8-Spades}{8-Diamonds}
Patacconi: {A-Spades}{Q-Clubs}

The {J-Spades} gave Patacconi a few outs but the {6-Spades} on the river wasn't one of them. It's a double up for the French-Canadian.

Dinner Breaks and Total Numbers

Level 4 : 100/200, 25 ante

The final numbers are in for EPT Campione. A total of 392 players took their seats today and when added to yesterday's 178, we have a total field of 570 players. An impressive number for an inaugural event.

As today's field is so much larger than yesterday's the dinner break has to be split in two. Tables 1-14 will go after level 5. The rest of the field will play on through level 6, and then the roles will be reversed. All players will return and play out the last two levels of the day as one group.

Yes, I know the smarter ones of you have realised that means we don't get a proper break. We do what we have to do. It's our dedication to the cause ;)

Marin-ated

David Vamplew is up to the heady heights of 75,000 after his {5-Clubs}{5-Diamonds} caught the {J-Clubs}{10-Clubs}{5-Hearts} flop much better than Gabriele Marinoni's {K-Hearts}{J-Hearts} - the latter picked up some outs on the {K-Spades} turn but the {A-Clubs} on the river wasn't one of them.

Kaiser Defends His Blinds

Ronnie Kaiser, the current EPT Tallin champion, has been absolutely tearing it up on PokerStars over the past couple of weeks and he is playing full of confidence.

In a hand just now the action folded to Gianmarco Di Tota on the button and the Italian opened the betting with a raise to 725. Kaiser checked his holecards, re-checked them, placed an envelope on the floor under his seat before looking at his cards for a third time. He then took a sideways glance at his opponent and then at the big blind who was yet to act before three-betting to 2,100.

The big blind instantly folded but Di Tota considered all of the options available to him, finally deciding that not messing with Kaiser was the best one and he folded.
