Puccilli Picks At Boeree's Stack

Liv Boeree
Liv Boeree

Stefano Puccilli slowed played aces versus Liv Boeree and it worked out rather well for him as he managed a full double up, although it almost didn't.

Boeree opened from under the gun and Puccilli was the only caller from the next seat. The flop fell {4-Hearts}{j-Diamonds}{q-Diamonds} and the Team PokerStars Pro continued for 13,000 and called when her Italian opponent shipped for 62,000.

Boeree opened {q-Clubs}{j-Clubs} and was ahead of Puccilli’s {a-Diamonds}{a-Clubs}. She couldn't stay that way though as the board ran out {5-Spades}{4-Spades} to counterfeit her hand.

Koen's Comeback Complete

Koen De Visscher started the day with less than the average stack but he has been plugging away, trying to claw his way back into things and his patience has finally paid off.

He opened from UTG+1 to 10,000 and to his immediate left Nick Yunis made the call. The action then folded to Bryan Piccioli in the small blind and he moved all in for around 120,000 and amazingly De Visscher moved all in behind him and then Yunis called too!

Piccioli: {A-Spades}{Q-Spades}
Yunis: {K-Clubs}{K-Spades}
De Visscher: {A-Hearts}{A-Diamonds}

An online poker hand if ever we saw one! The board ran out a rather void of drama, reading {J-Spades}{4-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds}{6-Clubs}{4-Clubs} by the river, busting Piccoli out in 70th place, leaving Yunis with just 70,000 and catapulting De Visscher to 628,000!

Given the Finger

Martin Finger
Martin Finger

After losing with {J-Spades}{J-Diamonds} to Ramin Hajiyev's {A-Diamonds}{K-Clubs}, former EPT winner Martin Finger was left with just 1,000 remaining and it went in from the small blind as Liv Boeree opened to 12,000 from late position and Massimo Mosele defended the big blind.

The two checked the {A-Clubs}{J-Spades}{4-Diamonds}{A-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds} down to the river, Mosele then bet 10,000 and Boeree moved in. Mosele shrugged and called, turning over {A-Hearts}{6-Clubs} but Boeree flipped {Q-Diamonds}{J-Diamonds} for a flush. Finger then flipped his cards but he only had {Q-Clubs}{9-Spades} and was also knocked out.

De Visscher Finishes the Job on Yunis, Claims Chip Lead

Koen De Visscher's day is getting better and better. The opposite can be said for Nick Yunis.

The action folded around to De Visscher in the small blind and he set Yunis in for his last 50,000. The Chilean made the call all-in.

De Visscher: {7-Spades}{10-Hearts}
Yunis: {a-Hearts}{4-Spades}

The board ran a waffle friendly {8-Diamonds}{k-Clubs}{8-Spades}{3-Diamonds}{7-Clubs} to make the Belgian two-pair by the river.

Four Years to Find Fold

Level 17 : 2,500/5,000, 500 ante

Some days as a tournament reporter can be frustrating as so much time is wasted waiting for players to make decisions. I'm not mentioning any countries by name but nationalities are famed for taking an age.

Two Italian players were involved in a large pot, all pre-flop, where everyone around knew a fold was coming but the theatrics had to be played out like we were watching an old Italian Opera. Just like an Opera, I had no idea what was being said.

Piero Schiavulli opened to 10,500 before Stefano Demontis three-bet to 25,000 from the button. Schiavulli came back with a four-bet to 43,500 but Demontis wasn't finished and shoved for 200,500.

It took the dealer several minutes to count this amount as Demontis' stack was awkwardly stacked. Schiavulli had this time to think and then took several more minutes to make a decision. His table mates were getting frustrated and the TD picked up on this and put the clock on Schiavulli. This prompted him to open fold {a-Hearts}{j-Hearts} and he was shown {k-Clubs}{10-Clubs} by his fellow countryman.

The two players then stepped away from the table and continued to argue about the hand for another minute or two.

Grospellier Shot in the Gut

Bertrand "ElkY" Grospellier
Bertrand "ElkY" Grospellier

Andrey Gulyy has just eliminated PokerStars Team Pro Bertrand Grospellier, the latter was all in with {6-Hearts}{6-Spades} against Andrey Gulyy's {A-Hearts}{5-Hearts} who flopped a gutshot, turned a flush draw and then hit his wheel on the river of a {9-Spades}{4-Hearts}{3-Spades}{9-Hearts}{2-Spades} board to eliminate the Frenchman.
