Pot for Pete

Level 5 : 150/300, 25 ante
Pete Linton
Pete Linton

Pete Linton's poker career was born in the same fire that produced EPT champion Julian Thew and nose-bleed specialist Sam Trickett. The trio used to all play in the same Nottingham cash games a few years ago before all three saw respective success.

[Removed:480] had opened to 600 preflop before Linton made it 1,600 from the button. Divkovic called to see a {J-Clubs}{J-Hearts}{2-Diamonds} flop where both players checked. Divkovic led for 2,000 on the {8-Diamonds} turn but Linton called to see the {9-Hearts} on the river. This time Divkovic was more cautious and he checked.

Linton fired a bet of 3,000 which had Divkovic tanking for several minutes before the latter elected to give up the hand.

Yan Runs Into Two Pair; Still Very Healthy

Level 5 : 150/300, 25 ante

Alain Jean Debackere checked on a flop of {5-Spades}{10-Spades}{q-Diamonds}. [Removed:17] took the opportunity to bet 800, and Debackere put in a check-raised to 1,700. Yan called.

The turn was the {8-Diamonds}, Debackere checked again, and Yan fired out 2,400. Debackere called.

The {6-Hearts} completed the board, and for the first time Debackere led out. The Belgian made it 3,600 to go, Yan called, and Debackere showed {q-Spades}{10-Diamonds} for top two pair.

Yan quickly mucked, but he's still well above the average stack with 85,000 chips.

Josh Green had 8,500 sitting in front of him on a board of {9-Spades}{a-Spades}{4-Hearts}{7-Diamonds}. Nichlas Mattsson raised, going all in for effectively 18,000 or so, and Green tank-called for his tournament life.

Green: {8-Spades}{6-Spades}
Mattsson: {a-Clubs}{9-Clubs}

The suicide king ({k-Hearts}) bricked off on the river, and Green was eliminated.

She is Impressed

Level 5 : 150/300, 25 ante
Dan Smith
Dan Smith

When we arrived at Table 20, Dan Smith was all in for effectively 30,000 or so on a flop of {3-Hearts}{2-Diamonds}{8-Hearts}. Haitao Wu was in the tank, and by the looks of it, Smith had bet 6,600 and Wu raised to 13,500. Smith responded with an all-in wager, and Wu dipped into the tank.

Finally the Brit folded his hand, and Smith dragged in the pot.

"I just wanted to impress her," Smith said with a grin as he motioned towards his masseuse.

"I'm impressed," she responded.

Seidel Slips

Level 6 : 200/400, 50 ante
Erik Seidel
Erik Seidel

Just before the level change, Erik Seidel opened to 700 from the cutoff. Ben Martin three-bet to 2,225 from the small blind, Seidel called, and the flop came {q-Hearts}{2-Hearts}{9-Clubs}. Martin led out for 2,050, Seidel quickly called, and the turn was the {3-Clubs}.

Martin slowed down, checking to Seidel who tossed out a single blue T5,000 chip. Martin matched the bet with a blue chip of his own.

Both players knuckled when the {3-Spades} completed the board, and Martin took the pot down with {j-Spades}{j-Clubs} for jacks and threes.
