Smith Caught Stealing

Level 7 : 250/500, 50 ante

Raahil Bhatia opened to 1,000 in early position, and Dan Smith eyed Bhatia's before calling in the big blind. The dealer fanned {6-Spades}{5-Hearts}{10-Hearts}, both players checked, and Smith led out for 2,500 when the {2-Hearts} turned. Bhatia called.

The {j-Diamonds} completed the board, Smith flicked forward two blue T5,000 chips, and Bhatia tanked for over a minute before calling the 10,000-chip bet.

Smith ripped over {q-Hearts}{9-Clubs} like it was the absolute nuts, and after examining Smith's queen-high, Bhatia finally showed {8-Diamonds}{8-Clubs} for a pair of eights.

Vogt of Confidence

Level 7 : 250/500, 50 ante
Vladimir Geshkenbein
Vladimir Geshkenbein

A huge pot just played out on the last table left in the outer room. Former EPT Snowfest winner Vladimir Geshkenbein and Rasmus Vogt got into a raising war to creat a 97,000 chip pot, all in preflop.

Vogt: {A-Clubs}{K-Spades}
Geshkenbein: {Q-Diamonds}{Q-Spades}

The flop came {6-Clubs}{5-Clubs}{8-Clubs} and the Russian was already looking a little nervous, the {K-Clubs} ended the hand and Vogt hit the {K-Diamonds} to add insult to injury.

Geshkenbein has about 33,000 left.

Watts is Gunnar Get You

Level 7 : 250/500, 50 ante

Joel Gunnarsson opened to 1,000 preflop and Mike Watson made it 2,300 in the seat next to him. It was passed around to Gunnarsson who moved all in for about 8,000 and Watson called.

Gunnarsson: {7-Diamonds}{7-Spades}
Watson: {A-Clubs}{K-Hearts}

The board came {2-Spades}{6-Hearts}{A-Diamonds}{Q-Clubs}{3-Clubs} and Watson, having lost some chips from earlier, is back up to 25,000.

The dealer fanned {9-Clubs}{3-Clubs}{j-Diamonds}, Martin led out for 7,700, and Da Silva plopped forward 28,075. Martin tanked for a bit, then folded.

Seidel Eliminated

Level 8 : 300/600, 75 ante
Erik Seidel
Erik Seidel

Poker legend Erik Seidel has been eliminated in the last level of the day. The multiple bracelet winner had raised preflop to 1,600 with Dhru Patel calling behind him to see a {J-}{3-}{2-} flop. Seidel checked and then jammed for 14,000 over Patel's 3,000 bet.

Patel called with {K-}{J-}, ahead of Seidel's {A-Clubs}{5-Clubs} and the board ran out with a {7-} turn and {J-} river.

Patel is the chip with almost 150,000.

Brown Can't Call Verheijen's River Shove

Level 8 : 300/600, 75 ante
Jamie Brown
Jamie Brown

Jamie Brown opened to 1,500 in the hijack seat, Gijsbert Verheijen three-bet to 3,500 on the button, and Brown called.

The flop fell {10-Clubs}{j-Hearts}{4-Hearts}, Brown check-called a bet of 3,200, and the turn was a repeat four - the {4-Diamonds}. Brown checked, Verheijen fired out another 5,200, and Brown called.

The {3-Spades} completed the board, Brown checked a third time, and Verheijen moved all in for 9,325. Brown begrudgingly folded, and Verheijen raked in the pot.

Shak and Blom Bust

Level 8 : 300/600, 75 ante
Viktor Blom
Viktor Blom

We're unsure of the action, but Dan Shak was just eliminated holding {a-}{k-} against the {a-}{a-} of Mario Chiang Guanilo. Shak will have a few days to relax in London before the high roller, while Guanilo has 90,000 chips.

On an adjacent table, Dan Smith knocked out Viktor Blom. The chips went in the middle on the turn, where Smith had flush and straight draws against a single pair from Blom. Smith made a club flush on the river, and Blom hit the rail.

Smith now has around 100,000 chips.

"Anyone Want One?"

Level 8 : 300/600, 75 ante

Jamie Brown checked to fellow Brit Mat Frankland on a flop of {j-Spades}{7-Hearts}{10-Spades}{5-Clubs}, and Frankland tossed out 4,525. Brown tank-called.

The {k-Clubs} completed the board, both players checked, and Brown showed {q-Spades}{5-Spades} for a pair of fives. Frankland had that beat with {k-Diamonds}{q-Diamonds} for a pair of kings, and raked in the pot.

"Anyone want one?" Frankland asked the table after ordering a beer.

No one answered.
