Antonius' Bluff Fails Against Adams

Timothy Adams opened for 40,000 under the gun and received a call from Patrik Antonius on the button. Mike McDonald came along from the big blind and three players saw a flop of . McDonald checked, Adams bet 90,000 and Antonius called. Adams got out of the way and then the dealer burned and turned the .

Adams slowed down with a check and called when Antonius bet 150,000. When the completed the board on the river, Adams checked and Antonius slid out a big bet of 500,000, leaving himself just 140,000 behind. Adams seemed tortured by the big bet but eventually tossed in a single pink T25,000 chip to signify a call.

After unsuccessfully trying to bluff Timothy Adams, Patrik Antonius was left on a short stack. He recently committed for 125,000 after action folded to him in the cutoff, and Ole Schemion, who had just knocked out Daniel Negreanu, made the call. The blinds folded and the cards were turned over:

It was a flip with Antonius looking to hold. The flop not only kept him in the lead, it also gave him a flush draw to take away some of Schemion's outs.
