Benger Bets Ace-Jack-High for Value, Chips Up Above Five Million

Level 25 : 25,000/50,000, 5,000 ante

Aaron Lim limped in from the small blind, Griffin Benger raised to 105,000, and Lim made the call.

The dealer fanned {5-Spades}{3-Clubs}{3-Spades}, Lim checked, and Benger continued for 100,000. Lim tanked for a bit, then tossed in four red T25,000 chips to make the call.

The turn was the suicide king ({k-Hearts}), both players knuckled, and the {4-Clubs} completed the board.

Lim checked a third time, Benger tossed out a very small bet of 85,000, and after roughly two minutes in the tank, Lim called.

Benger ripped over {a-Clubs}{j-Clubs}, knowing it was good, and instantly yelled at himself for not betting more. Lim scrunched his face, then tossed his cards into the muck.

Max Lykov - 4th Place
Max Lykov - 4th Place

Max Lykov was all in and at risk before the flop for his short stack of roughly 350,000. Lykov held {A-Clubs}{5-Hearts} against the {A-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds} of Griffin Benger.

The dealer spread out a flop of {6-Diamonds}{K-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds} and Benger instantly flopped the nut flush. The {Q-Clubs} and the {4-Hearts} completed the board and the Team Pro was sent to the rail in fourth place. He will collect €102,900 for his efforts.

Benger is now sitting on about 4.52 million in chips.

Benger Bests Lim's Bullets

Level 25 : 25,000/50,000, 5,000 ante

Aaron Lim opened to 125,000 from the small blind. Griffin Benger flat called out of the big and the flop brought {10-Spades}{5-Clubs}{6-Clubs}. Lim continued out for 155,000 and Benger called the bet.

The turn brought the {7-Diamonds} and Lim carefully counted out his next bet. A minute passed before he moved 235,000 past the betting line. Once again Benger opted to stick around.

The {Q-Diamonds} completed the board on the river and Lim took about forty seconds before he moved 420,000 into the center. Benger then went into the tank. After a bit, he spoke up.

"Alright," said Benger. "I just call."

"Aces," said Lim, flashing {A-Spades}{A-Clubs}.

Benger turned over {Q-Clubs}{10-Clubs} on the felt for two pair of queens and tens. Lim flung his cards away toward the muck and the massive pot was pushed toward Benger.

Benger's birthday run good is continuing as he is the overwhelming chip lead with 4.08 million.

Lykov Makes Hero Call; Gets Crippled by Lim

Level 25 : 25,000/50,000, 5,000 ante
Aaron Lim doubles

Again, before the level changed, Aaron Lim opened for a raise to 80,000 on the button, and Max Lykov three-bet to 190,000.

"How much do you have?" the recent World Series of Poker Asia-Pacific bracelet winner asked the Team Pro. "One-point four?"

Lykov used his index finger to count the stacks, then nodded. Lim called.

The dealer burned a single card, then spread a flop of {k-Diamonds}{3-Hearts}{3-Spades}. Lykov tapped the felt with one finger, and Lim tanked before firing out 165,000. Lykov sat quietly for a minute or so, then called.

The turn was the {2-Hearts}, Lykov checked again, and Lim returned to the tank. Roughly 90 seconds later he reemerged, and slid forward 245,000. Lykov tank-called once again.

The {j-Clubs} completed the board, and Lykov checked a third and final time. Lim sat quietly, riffling his remaining red T25,000 chips in his right hand, and then placed them on top of three towers of blue T5,000 chips.

"All in," the Australian announced, making it 475,000.

Lykov tanked for longer than he had on any other street, eventually cutting out enough chips to make the call. Finally, after several minutes, he committed them.

Lim turned over {k-Clubs}{q-Clubs} confidently, and Lykov flicked his cards forward a few centimeters. He wanted them to remain face down, but per tournament rules, they were tabled: {q-Diamonds}{2-Clubs}.

Lykov plummeted to 370,000 chips, while Lim doubled to 2.15 million.

The Birthday Boy Extends His Lead

Level 25 : 25,000/50,000, 5,000 ante
Griffin Benger - Birthday boy
Griffin Benger - Birthday boy

Prior to the start of Level 25, Griffin Benger, who is celebrating his birthday today, opened to 80,000 in first position. Max Lykov called on his direct left, and both blinds released.

The flop fell {k-Diamonds}{2-Spades}{q-Diamonds}, Benger led out for 100,000, and Lykov made the call.

The turn was the {10-Hearts}, and Benger slowed down, checking to Lykov who tossed out 165,000. Benger tank-called.

The river was a repeat ten - the {10-Diamonds} - and Benger checked again. Lykov fired a large bet of 365,000, and Benger quickly assembled enough chips to make the call. He paused momentarily, then pushed them forward.

Lykov showed {a-Diamonds}{k-Spades} for kings and tens, but Benger had that beat with {j-Spades}{10-Clubs} for trip tens.

The birthday boy is now an overwhelming chip leader with 3.35 million, while Lykov is down to 1.45 million.

Benger Extends Lead

Level 24 : 20,000/40,000, 5,000 ante

Griffin Benger had the button. He raised to 80,000 and found a call from Philippe Ktorza in the big blind.

The flop brought {6-Hearts}{2-Diamonds}{8-Spades} and Ktorza checked. Benger bet 75,000 and Ktorza stuck around. The {K-Clubs} on fourth street went check-check and the {2-Clubs} paired the board on the river. Ktorza moved 145,000 into the middle and after Benger inquired as to the bet amount he quickly announced a call.

Ktorza showed {Q-Hearts}{10-Hearts} for merely queen high. Benger rolled up {7-Hearts}{6-Clubs} and grabbed the pot. Benger now has about 2.47 million while Ktorza has fallen to 1.1 million.
