Kabrhel Likes the Way he Played It

Level 20 : 8,000/16,000, 2,000 ante
Martin Kabrhel
Martin Kabrhel

James Mitchell opened to 32,000 from middle position, Martin Kabrhel called in the hijack seat, and Griffin Benger three-bet to 95,000 on the button. Mitchell quickly folded, and Kabrhel called.

The flop fell {3-Spades}{8-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds}, Kabrhel checked, and Benger double-fisted 115,000 forward. Kabrhel tanked for quite some time, then called.

The turn was the {j-Diamonds}, bringing both potential straights and flushes, and Kabrhel went back into the tank. While he was thinking, Scott Seiver and Dan Smith were carrying on a conversation away from the table, and Kabrhel requested that they quiet down. They obliged.

Kabrhel then pushed forward 211,000, and it was Benger's turn to dip into the tank. He sat quietly for a minute or so, then folded.

"Are you happy with that fold?" Benger asked Kabrhel.

"I'm happy with the way I played it," Kabrhel returned, grinning.

...And Gives it to Mitchell

Level 19 : 6,000/12,000, 2,000 ante

Action folded to Scott Seiver's small blind and he completed. James Mitchell raised to 51,000 out of the big blind and Seiver came right back over the top with a three-bet to 140,000. Mitchell quickly called.

The flop was {4-Clubs}{K-Spades}{9-Clubs} and Seiver brought out the big guns with a bet of 145,000. Mitchell once again stayed the course and the {7-Clubs} hit the turn.

Seiver tapped the table and Mitchell quickly announced that he was all in. This was a bet for Seiver's life and he decided not to risk it here. Mitchell dragged in the pot and is now sitting at 1.355 million.

Seiver Takes Some From Lykov

Level 19 : 6,000/12,000, 2,000 ante

Scott Seiver opened to 32,000 preflop and was called by Max Lykov from the small blind.

The flop was {10-Hearts}{4-Hearts}{10-Spades} and Seiver continued for 43,000. Lykov called to see the {9-Diamonds} hit the turn. Seiver slowed with a check and Lykov fired 72,000. Seiver called.

The {K-Diamonds} hit the river and Seiver came out swinging one last time for 130,000. Lykov mucked and Seiver took it down.

Damn, Damn, Damn, James

Level 19 : 6,000/12,000, 2,000 ante

James Mitchell opened to 32,000 from the cutoff seat, Martin Kabrhel three-bet to 84,000 on his direct left, and the action folded back to Mitchell, who four-bet to 152,000.

"Can you pull the bets in, please?" Kabrhel asked the dealer.

The dealer obliged, and Kabrhel tossed in the extra 68,000.

The flop fell {8-Clubs}{q-Hearts}{10-Hearts}, Mitchell checked, Kabrhel tossed out 81,000. Mitchell tanked for a bit, check-raised all in for 366,000, and Kabrhel scrunched his face, rechecked his cards, then called.

Kabrhel: {q-Spades}{9-Spades}
Mitchell: {a-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds}

Kabrhel was ahead, and remained so when the {5-Hearts} turned. One more card separated us from seven-handed poker, but the {a-Hearts} spiked on the river to give Mitchell two pair.

He doubled to 1.076 million chips, while Kabrhel dropped down to 975,000.

Jan-Peter Jachtmann Eliminated in 9th Place (€30,300)

Level 19 : 6,000/12,000, 2,000 ante
Jan-Peter Jachtmann - 9th Place
Jan-Peter Jachtmann - 9th Place

Wow. We just witnessed a huge pot that resulted in the eliminated of Jan-Peter Jachtmann and saw a huge amount of chips go the way of Martin Kabrhel.

Jachtmann opened early position to 37,000 and action trickled around to Kabrhel on the button. He made it 101,000 to go and it folded back to Jachtmann. He double fisted all of his chips into the middle of the table for a bet totaling over 700,000. Kabrhel snapped him off.

Kabrhel: {A-Diamonds}{A-Hearts}
Jachtmann: {Q-Spades}{Q-Diamonds}

The board fell down {9-Hearts}{3-Diamonds}{4-Clubs}{3-Spades}{5-Spades} and just like that our official final table was set. Jachtmann was forced to settle for ninth place while Kabrhel now sits second in chips, bested only by Max Lykov.
