Jeffrey Hakim Eliminated in 8th Place (€60,000)

Level 29 : 40,000/80,000, 10,000 ante
Jeffrey Hakim - 8th place
Jeffrey Hakim - 8th place

First hand saw Franck Kalfon open to 160,000 from the button and picked up the blinds and antes.

Joseph El Khoury raised to 190,000 preflop and Jeffrey Hakim, his compatriot, moved all in for 875,000 from the next seat. Suddenly, [Removed:4] reraised all in for 2,670,000 in the hijack and it was folded back to El Khoury. Finally, the latter of these folded pocket nines face up.

Hakim: {A-Clubs}{K-Diamonds}
Rudelitz: {A-Hearts}{A-Spades}

Hakim was in big trouble and the flop could only compound his problems coming {J-Hearts}{8-Hearts}{6-Hearts}. Hakim now needed perfect-perfect but the {J-Clubs} on the turn meant he was already walking out of the door. The {K-Spades} river meant nothing and we're down to seven.

El Khoury Takes a Few

Level 29 : 40,000/80,000, 10,000 ante

On the hand following Jeffrey Hakim's elimination, the table folded around to Robert Romeo who opened with a raise to 180,000 from the cutoff seat, good enough to claim the blinds and antes.

The next hand saw Remi Castaignon open-raising the minimum to 160,000 from the small blind, then Joseph El Khoury called from a seat over. The flop brought three big cards — {A-Diamonds}{J-Spades}{K-Diamonds} — and both players checked fairly quickly. The turn was the {9-Clubs} and brought a couple of checks again.

The river then brought the {5-Clubs}. Castaignon checked once more, and when El Khoury took the invitation to push out a bet of 130,000 the chip leader let it go.

Castaignon Puts on the Superhero Cape, Doesn't Go Well

Level 29 : 40,000/80,000, 10,000 ante

Remi Castaignon raised to 160,000 from the button, Joseph El Khoury and [Removed:4] both quickly folded in the blinds.

Noel Gaens raised to 160,000 from early position and Castaignon called from the cutoff. [Removed:4] made it 450,000 from the small blind, Gaens folded but Castaignon made the call to see our first three-bet pot.

The flop was {Q-Clubs}{6-Diamonds}{3-Spades} and [Removed:4] bet 350,000 which Remi Castaignon made the call. The turn was {10-Clubs} and Rudelitz led out 1 million in chips with just 2 million behind and again the chip leader Castaignon made the call. The river is the {4-Diamonds} and Rudelitz moved all in to make the pot hit the 6 million mark.

Castaignon tanked for almost five minutes having cut out the call but Walid Bou Habib called the clock after 5 minutes. Finally, Castaignon made the call for the biggest pot of the tournament.

Rudelitz turned over {Q-Hearts}{Q-Spades} for top set, Castaignon didn't want to show but he was forced to flip {5-Hearts}{5-Diamonds} for a huge hero call. Rudelitz has taken the chip lead as a result.

Robert Romeo
Robert Romeo

As the table continued taking in what had just happened in that huge lead-changing hand between [Removed:4] and Remi Castaignon, Castaignon immediately was back at it with a raise to 160,000 from middle position. Robert Robert Romeo called from the big blind, and the flop came {5-Diamonds}{A-Clubs}{A-Diamonds}.

Romeo checked, Castaignon bet 150,000, and Romeo called. Both players then checked the {8-Diamonds} turn. The river then brought the {6-Hearts}. At the sight of that card, Romeo set out a bet of 325,000, and after just a brief pause Castaignon stepped aside.

Castaignon Loses More Ground

Level 29 : 40,000/80,000, 10,000 ante

Walid Bou Habib raised to 165,000 from the button and Remi Castaignon defended his big blind. The flop was {2-Diamonds}{J-Hearts}{K-Spades} and the Frenchman checked and then folded when Bou Habib bet 175,000.

New chip leader [Removed:4] raised to 160,000 from UTG, the first hand since that huge double up and everyone promptly folded.

Castaignon made it 160,000 from the button and Rudelitz defended in the big blind. The flop was {2-Clubs}{8-Hearts}{5-Spades} and both players checked the flop, then on the {2-Spades} turn the German check-called a 180,000 chip bet. The {Q-Clubs} on the river saw Rudelitz now lead out for 300,000 and Castaignon quickly folded.
