Split Pot For Selbst

Level 1 : 50/100, 0 ante
Vanessa Selbst
Vanessa Selbst

The flop was {9-Hearts} {6-Diamonds} {6-Hearts} and the most successful female poker player of all time is interested. Vanessa Selbst checks out of the big blind and her opponent makes a 350 bet from the button; she calls.

The turn card is the {9-Hearts}, and this time both players check their way through to the {A-Diamonds} on the river. Selbst quickly check-calls a 750 bet from the button and it’s time to flip the cards on their back. It’s {A-Clubs} {8-Clubs} for Selbst, {A-Hearts} {K-Spades} for the player on the button and both players split the pot.

Welcome to Day 1A of EPT London

Big Ben
Big Ben

If poker is your thing then London is the place to be. But with so much going on where should focus your attention? It's a tough decision. The United Kingdom & Ireland Poker Tour (UKIPT) final table takes place today. The Belgian pro Wim Neys leading the final table of nine. The biggest ever UKIPT High Roller is also in full swing. The event attracted 219 players thus creating a prize pool of £424,860 and a whole host of stars will be returning in their attempt to capture that particular crown. If it's the lure of the superstar poker player that turns you on, then we have the much-anticipated Team PokerStars v The Professionals Battleships style heads-up team action: Daniel Negreanu, Isaac Haxton & Bertrand 'ElkY' Grospellier versus Gus Hansen, Tom Dwan and Viktor Blom. We will be keeping you up to date with all of that action.

So a feast of fury, but today we will concentrate all of our attention on the flagship of the London Poker Festival. We are of course talking about the £5,300 EPT London Main Event, which takes place at The Vic. It's been five years since The Vic last hosted the EPT Main Event and its great to be back. In 2008, Michael Martin took a cool £1 million back to the United States after his heads-up victory against the machine that is Michael Tureniec.

In Season 9 it was one of those German powerhouses that swept all before him. Benny Spindler defeating Steve O’Dwyer to take home the title and £750,000 in prize money.

So plenty to do, and plenty to see, and the Main Event action starts at 12:00 (GMT). Make sure that you log in, and tune in, because PokerNews will be bringing you the very best action in the business.
