Wojciech Barzantny Leaves The Building

Level 5 : 150/300, 25 ante

The back-to-back UKIPT winner, Wojciech Barzantny, has been eliminated in the fifth level of play. We didn’t see the hand, but were told by the table that he appeared somewhat tilted when he moved all-in with ‘not a very good hand.’ Campan Cristian Marius eliminated the German star after calling with a 'better hand.'

Use the Schwartz

Level 5 : 150/300, 25 ante

Luke Schwartz, who has been sandwiched in one of those corner tables, has just managed to double up through the poker legend that is Chris Bjorin. It looked as though all the money went in preflop with Schwartz' {Q-Spades}{Q-Clubs} staying ahead of Bjorin's {J-Spades}{J-Clubs} on a board that read {8-Diamonds}{7-Clubs}{6-Hearts}{3-Hearts}{10-Diamonds}.

Sarwer Flush with Chips

Level 5 : 150/300, 25 ante
Jeff Sarwer
Jeff Sarwer

Jeff Sarwer is appearing in the blog and it's not because his aces have been cracked, and that makes a nice change for both parties.

The Canadian three-bet to 1,425 after Patrick Uzan opened to 625. Call. The flop appeared as {9-Hearts}{4-Spades}{q-Spades} and Uzan checked to face 1,450 bet. Call again.

On the {k-Spades} turn Uzan refused to budge and check-called a 2,750 bet to see the {7-Hearts} river appear. Sarwer saw his third bullet for 7,750 called before he opened {a-Spades}{8-Spades} for the nut flush. Uzan mucked.

Ladouceur at it Again

Level 5 : 150/300, 25 ante

Marc-Andre Ladouceur seems to like to raise when he has plenty of chips. Scratch that. Ladouceur seems to like to raise a lot when he has chips. Just ask Luke Greenwood.

The Canadian opened from mid-position before Ladouceur three-bet to 2,025 from the cut-off. Greenwood came back with a four-bet to 5,125, only for Ladouceur to five-bet to 8,625. Greenwood called with around 25,000 behind.

The flop fell {5-Hearts}{j-Hearts}{4-Spades} and Greenwood folded to a 5,500 bet from Ladouceur.

Ladouceur Busts Rettenmaier; Creeping Up to 200K

Level 5 : 150/300, 25 ante
Marvin Rettenmaier - Eliminated
Marvin Rettenmaier - Eliminated

When we reached the table, Marc-Andre Ladouceur and Marvin Rettenmaier were heads up on a flop of {6-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds}{k-Hearts}. Rettenmaier checked, Ladouceur tossed out 2,600, and Rettenmaier called.

The turn was a third diamond - the {7-Diamonds} - and Rettenmaier checked again. Ladouceur fired a second bullet worth 6,800, and Rettenmaier called.

The {2-Spades} completed the board, and Rettenmaier checked a third time. Ladouceur tanked for a bit, then slid out a large tower of blue T5,000 chips, putting Rettenmaier all in. The bet was worth around 32,000, which was more than the pot, and Rettenmaier thought for over two minutes before calling.

Ladouceur flipped over {k-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds} for a turned flush, and Rettenmaier mucked his hand. Mad Marvin hit the rail, while Ladouceur is now flirting with a 200,000-chip stack.

Second Luke Schwartz Double Up

Level 5 : 150/300, 25 ante

Roving reporter Homer has just reported a Luke Schwartz double up in a hand against the legend that is Chris Bjorin, and we can now reveal that he has done it again.

The action is at the turn on a board of {K-Diamonds} {J-Diamonds} {J-Hearts} {9-Hearts} with 15,000 in the pot.
Schwartz bets 10,500 and Vizsnyiczai Zsolt made the call. The river card is the {A-Spades} and Schwartz looked as if he had seen a ghost. Nevertheless he moved his stack into the middle of the pot and Zsolt snap called.

Showdown

Schwartz: {K-Spades} {K-Hearts}
Zsolt: {J-Clubs} {9-Clubs}

Hollywood for Schwartz and a cooler for Zsolt. Schwartz is up to 88,000 chips.
