Wigg Doubles Through Selbst

Level 9 : 400/800, 100 ante
Anton Wigg - "F-ing clown"
Anton Wigg - "F-ing clown"

Seeing as table 25 is full of superstars it wasn't going to take long for two of them to tangle. To no one's surprise there was an all-in pot straightaway in the first level of play, and the pot was between Vanessa Selbst and Anton Wigg.

The action folded around to Selbst on the button and she raised to 1,600. Wigg was on the big blind and three-bet to 4,300, Selbst was not to be outdone though and four-bet to 8,900 and called when Wigg shoved for 40,000.

Wigg: {a-Diamonds}{k-Hearts}
Selbst: {9-Hearts}{9-Diamonds}

The board ran {6-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds}{10-Clubs}{j-Diamonds}{q-Spades} to make Wigg Broadway on the river. Selbst was down to around 22,000 after the loss.

Selbst took to Twitter to say:

Wigg's viewpoint was:

Kuo Loses Some

Level 9 : 400/800, 100 ante

Daniel Gomez opened to 1,600 from under the gun, Kitty Kuo three-bet to 3,200 in middle position, and [Removed:321] Bilal Ali cold four-bet to 9,500 from the hijack seat. Gomez released, and Kuo tank-called.

The dealer fanned {4-Diamonds}{q-Spades}{8-Spades}, Kuo checked, and Ali continued for 12,000. Kuo quickly released, and the Englishman picked up the pot.

Going for Thin Value was Worth the Risk

Level 9 : 400/800, 100 ante

Nick Abou Risk has called Dublin, Ireland, his home for the last few years and is sat at the same table as a real Irishman. Jude Ainsworth comes from Galway on the other coast of Ireland so when these guys just tangled it was an East versus West coast battle.

Ainsworth raised from second position and Risk defended his big blind to see a {9-Hearts}{10-Spades}{q-Spades} flop. Ainsworth continued for 2,200 and Risk check-called. Both players checked the {2-Spades} turn before Risk led for a relatively small 1,200 on the {4-Clubs} river. Ainsworth called and mucked upon seeing Risk's {k-Clubs}{10-Hearts}.

Erlandsson Rips Off Two Kings

Level 9 : 400/800, 100 ante

In a Sweden-Belgium clash we just saw Daniel Erlandsson rip off two kings like it was nobody's business. Erlandsson raised to 1,600 from the button and Sylvain Naets three-bet to 4,400 from the big blind. Like a true Swede Erlandsson four-bet to 9,400 and Naets came right back with a five-bet to 16,900. This still wasn't enough for Erlandsson who moved all in and Naets snap-called.

Daniel Erlandsson: {A-Diamonds}{K-Diamonds}
Sylvain Naets: {A-Hearts}{A-Clubs}

The board ran out {K-Hearts}{K-Spades}{10-Clubs}{8-Clubs}{10-Spades} and Naets quietly left the room. Erlandsson is now one of the chip leaders as he raked in a massive pot.

Iacofano Doubles Up

Level 9 : 400/800, 100 ante

Kevin Iacofano (who looks like he's already had one double up already) just doubled up. He opened to 1,600 from UTG and Oscar Romero made it 3,700 in the seat next to him, Iacofano moved all in for 22,300 and Romero made a slightly reluctant call.

Iacofano: {K-Spades}{K-Hearts}
Romero: {A-Diamonds}{Q-Diamonds}

The door card was a king and Iacofano is up to 45,000 after a board that read {K-Diamonds}{8-Spades}{2-Clubs}{6-Clubs}{Q-Clubs}.

Baumann Baded

Level 9 : 400/800, 100 ante

George Danzer, Gaelle Baumann, and Martin Bader took a flop of {7-Diamonds}{q-Hearts}{8-Spades}. The action checked to Baumann, who tossed out a single blue T5,000 chip. She announced a bet smaller than 5,000, but we couldn't hear it. Danzer folded, and then Bader raised to 4,200. Baumann made the call.

The turn was the {5-Hearts}, both players checked, and the river was the {4-Hearts}. Bader led out for 6,000, prompting Baumann to fold.

Korotkikh Takes Out Perrins and Breitfuss

Level 9 : 400/800, 100 ante
Matt Perrins during the Day 1b action
Matt Perrins during the Day 1b action

In a huge hand we've just lost two players, Matt Perrins and David Breitfuss. The action was on Perrins when we arrived on the scene and he was facing a shove from Breitfuss. Perrins had 3,800 invested in the pot and it looked like he had made a three-bet on Breitfuss' raise. Mikhail Korotkikh was still to act behind Perrins as he also had chips invested.

Perrins ultimately decided to move all in for around 41,000 chips and Korotkikh instantly moved in as well. A three-way all in was upon us!

Mikhail Korotkikh: {Q-Spades}{Q-Hearts}
Matt Perrins: {A-Diamonds}{K-Diamonds}
David Breitfuss: {10-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds}

The board ran out {3-Clubs}{8-Clubs}{8-Spades}{Q-Diamonds}{2-Hearts} and Korotkikh exploded in excitement. The entire room immediately looked over to Table 34 where the Russian player was celebrating his victory very vocally. After the dust settled there were two open seats on the table and Korotkikh is now one of the chip leaders.
