Float Sunk

Level 4 : 100/200, 25 ante

Jerry Odman opened for 475 from the cut off and was raised to 1,150 by Russian Pokerstars Player, [Removed:266], from the button. The blinds folded and Odman made the call. The flop {a-Diamonds}{8-Spades}{j-Spades} was checked by Odman who then called a bet of 1,000 from Kleyman. Turn {3-Clubs} was again check / called by Odman, this time to the tune of 2,000. River card {7-Spades} and now Odman led for 2,100. Kleyman didn’t seem to like it but made the call tabling the winning {a-Hearts}{k-Clubs} against the {q-Spades}{10-Diamonds} of Odman.

Daher Wins a Big One

Level 4 : 100/200, 25 ante

We just witnessed Albert Daher from Lebanon getting mixed up in a big pot. With the board already out in total there was 30,500 in the middle. {8-Clubs}{3-Clubs}{2-Spades}{8-Spades}{K-Hearts} on the table and after some thinking Daher announced to be all in for what looked like 27,500. Daher was seated in the under the gun plus two position while his opponent, Helder Teixeira from Portugal, sat on the button. Minutes passed but in the end Teixeira mucked his cards with some frustration. Daher quietly collected the chips without showing his cards.

Blain Gain

Level 4 : 100/200, 25 ante

Dermot Blain, a Full Tilt Poker Ambassador, opened for 550 and found one caller in big blind Olof Haglund, a Swedish PokerStars Player. They saw a flop of {6-Hearts}{a-Diamonds}{10-Hearts} and both checked. The turn was the {10-Diamonds} and Haglund led out for 650 only to face a raise to 1,700 from Blain. Haglund made the call and checked when the river fell {9-Spades}. Blain bet a hefty 4,400 and confirmed to his opponent that he had 24k behind. Haglund folded and Blain gathered in the chips.

More Than 7 Million Chips in Play

Level 4 : 100/200, 25 ante

The Main Event is up to 237 players which makes for 7,110,000 chips in total. Last year the total for Day 1A was 307 players, with 475 on Day 1B. The tournament thus needs 545 or more players to register before the start of Day 2 to beat last years total. Remember that Season 10 allows player to register up until the start of Day 2.

Comte Tempts Eames

Level 4 : 100/200, 25 ante
John Eames
John Eames

Steven Comte just took a chunk out of John Eames by winning a pot worth just over 20,000 against the Englishman.

I joined the action with a board of {Q-Hearts}{K-Diamonds}{6-Hearts}{J-Hearts} on the felt and just over 8,000 in the pot. Comte (small blind) checked it over to Eames (under-the-gun+1) and he too rapped the table. The {2-Diamonds} completed the board, Comte bet 6,250 and Eames then began to think it over. He cut his stack down, rechecked his cards and then took 6,250 out of his stack and counted what he had left.

Another 30 seconds passed during which Eames looked at Comte, almost unsure of what to do. Eventually he settled on calling, but he'll have wished he hadn't as Comte showed {Q-Clubs}{Q-Spades} to take the pot. Eames is down to roughly 16,000.

Mario Adinolfi the Latest to Bust

Level 4 : 100/200, 25 ante

Joseph Carlino was looking very happy with himself and well he might as he just eliminated Mario Adinolfi. The latter was all-in pre-flop for roughly 3,000 (he had a big tower of green T25 chips) with {A-Diamonds}{Q-Diamonds} and was up against Carlino's {Q-Clubs}{Q-Spades}. The pair held as the board ran {K-Diamonds}{6-Hearts}{10-Hearts}{9-Spades}{K-Spades}.

Brinkmanship

Level 4 : 100/200, 25 ante

There was a board reading {a-Clubs}{a-Hearts}{3-Diamonds}{5-Spades} and three players were still in the pot. Nikita Nikolaev bet 1,1800 from the big blind and was raised by Artem Metalidi from the Hi Jack to 4,200. Just to make it interesting Oleh Okhotskyi called from the small blind. Back on Nikolaev who now made it 7,600. Would that get rid of one of them? No. They both called to see a river card. {4-Hearts}. It was checked to Metalidi who asked for a count of the shorter stack Okhotskyi’s chips and got an answer of around 13k. He bet 7,225 and after a bit of thought Okhotskyi called with Nikolaev still to act behind. Nikolaev folded and when Metalidi showed his {5-Hearts}{5-Diamonds} full house Okhotskyi nodded and slid his cards forward to fold.
