Salter Doubles Buonanno

Level 27 : 25,000/50,000, 5,000 ante
Antonio Buonanno
Antonio Buonanno

Hand #6: Jack Salter opened under the gun with {A-Clubs}{4-Clubs} for 115,000, a little over a min raise. Action folded to Antonio Buonanno on the button who woke up with {8-Spades}{8-Diamonds} and made the call. Both blinds folded and it was heads up to the flop.

On {4-Hearts}{7-Clubs}{10-Hearts} it was Salter who fired 145,000 into 345,000. Buonanno made the call and the dealer burned and turned the {8-Clubs}. This card gave Salter the flush draw while Buonanno improved to a set. Salter checked and with 635,000 in the middle already, Buonanno bet 175,000.

Salter asked for the triangle by holding his fingers in the air symbolizing the all in symbol. Buonanno wasn't calling yet though, he waited for at least one minute before announcing it.

"Fuck" you could hear Salter say. He needed a club on the river but wouldn't get it with the {J-Hearts} displaying.

Salter was visibly upset by his move, but still third in chips.

"Ok, I'm over it. Nice hand" Salter said to himself and the table after two minutes. Play continued.

Hand #10: Jack Salter raised to 115,000 from the cutoff with {A-Clubs}{K-Diamonds}. Sebastian Bredthauer moved all in from the button with {A-Hearts}{8-Hearts} and Salter called.

The flop came {6-Hearts}{9-Diamonds}{5-Clubs} and Bredthauer flopped a gutshot while the {6-Spades} turn gave him chop outs but the {10-Diamonds} came on the river and Bredthauer, who qualified online for just 100 FPP, went out in 8th place.

Kenny Hicks Eliminated in 7th Place (€188,500)

Level 28 : 30,000/60,000, 10,000 ante
Kenny Hicks
Kenny Hicks

Hand #24: Antonio Buonanno opened under the gun plus one for 125,000 with {10-Clubs}{10-Diamonds}. As soon as we saw Kenny Hicks had {A-Clubs}{K-Diamonds} in the cutoff, we saw it could mean an all in. Hicks made it 300,000 and the other players folded. Buonanno shoved all in and Hicks made the call.

It was a classic race but it was probably the most important one of Hicks' life. The 4,560,000 pot wouldn't go his way though, he busted in 7th after the board ran out {9-Diamonds}{3-Spades}{6-Spades} {Q-Spades} {3-Diamonds}.

The remaining six players are all guaranteed €258,300.

Hand #25: Jack Salter raised to 125,000 from the cutoff with {Q-Hearts}{J-Diamonds} and won the pot.

Hand #26: Mayu Roca made it 125,000 with {A-Diamonds}{10-Spades} and everyone folded.

Hand #27: Jack Salter raised to 125,000 preflop with {3-Diamonds}{3-Hearts} and Malte Moennig moved all in for 1,015,000 with {10-Hearts}{10-Spades}. Sebastian von Topczer picked up {7-Hearts}{7-Clubs} and got a count before making the call. Salter folded.

The flop came {Q-Spades}{A-Spades}{4-Spades} and Moennig gained a flush draw, the {9-Diamonds} turn changed nothing and the {8-Hearts} river left just five players remaning.

Magnus Karlsson Eliminated in 5th Place (€332,000)

Level 29 : 40,000/80,000, 10,000 ante
Magnus Karlsson
Magnus Karlsson

Hand #49: Karlsson moved in under the gun for 1,340,000 with {3-Spades}{3-Clubs}. Moennig in the cutoff asked for a count as he had {8-Diamonds}{8-Spades}. He then moved all in as well for 1,565,000.

Jack Salter had left the table in the mean time, and folded. The floorman ruled Salter a two hand penalty for acting out of turn.

Roca had {9-Hearts}{9-Spades} in the big blind and faced two all ins in front of him. He called in the end and had the chance to bust two players. 4,110,000 in the main pot and 450,000 in the side pot.

The {Q-Hearts}{7-Clubs}{8-Clubs} on the flop was a blow for Roca. The {A-Diamonds} on the turn meant Karlsson was definitely out in 6th place. The {7-Hearts} on the river was a blank and we had a bust out and near triple up. The remaining four players are now guaranteed €419,000.

Mayu Roca

Hand #71: Mayu Roca raised to 215,000 from under the gun and Jack Salter three-bet to 495,000. Roca moved all in and Salter instantly called.

Roca: {5-Diamonds}{5-Clubs}
Salter: {Q-Clubs}{Q-Hearts}

The flop came {Q-Spades}{A-Spades}{3-Clubs} and Roca was drawing almost dead. The {2-Spades} gave the Colombian a straight draw but the {8-Spades} river gave another big pot to Salter instead.

Malte Moennig Eliminated In 3rd Place (€547,000)

Level 30 : 50,000/100,000, 10,000 ante
Malte Moennig
Malte Moennig

Hand #72: Antonio Buonanno got a walk in the big blind.

Hand #73: Salter opened and everyone folded.

Hand #74: Malte Moennig opened the button to 205,000 with {A-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds}. Buonanno in the small blind had {A-Spades}{K-Diamonds} and three-bet to 550,000. Salter folded his big blind and action was back on Moennig.

The commentators talked about either folding or calling, but Moennig opted for a different strategy. He shoved all in for 3,295,000 and Buonanno made the snap call.

The {2-Hearts}{J-Clubs}{9-Hearts} on the flop didn't connect with either. The {2-Diamonds} made for some choppertunities, but the {8-Diamonds} on the river was a blank and Malte Moennig was eliminated in third place.

Buonanno instantly wanted to make a deal, while Moennig was still standing there.

Salter Takes A Serious Lead

Jack Salter - Antonio Buonanno Heads Up
Jack Salter - Antonio Buonanno Heads Up

Hand #205: Buonanno opened with {4-Hearts}{4-Spades} and Salter folded.

Hand #206: Salter found a real hand with {A-Diamonds}{Q-Clubs} and opened for 415,000. Buonanno didn't have a bad hand either with {A-Clubs}{9-Diamonds} and made it 1,000,000. Salter four-bet to 2,225,000 and Buonanno called.

With now 4,510,000 in the pot, the flop came {3-Spades}{6-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds}. Buonanno had wild plans and bet out 1,500,000, one-third of the pot.

Salter moved his hands up in the air and formed a triangle with his fingers like some out of fashion gang sign; All In!

Buonanno instantly folded. Salter now has a sizable lead over his Italian opponent.

Buonanno Doubles Up

Level 33 : 100,000/200,000, 30,000 ante
Antonio Buonanno
Antonio Buonanno

Hand #211: Salter required the all in triangle with {K-Clubs}{9-Hearts}. Buonanno didn't call. "Good fold" said Salter.

Hand #212: Buonanno had {6-Clubs}{3-Hearts} on the button and folded.

Hand #213: Salter had {3-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds} and folded, walk for Buonanno.

Hand #214: Buonanno had {6-Hearts}{5-Hearts} on the button and made it 400,000. Salter found {10-Spades}{3-Spades} and folded.

Hand #215: Salter had {A-Hearts}{J-Spades} on the button and requested the all in triangle again. Buonanno with {7-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds} didn't call.

Hand #216: Buonanno folded his button.

Hand #217: Salter on the button raised to 415,000 with {10-Diamonds}{2-Spades}, Buonanno folded.

Hand #218: Buonanno with {K-Clubs}{2-Clubs} on the button shoved all in. Salter made the quick call with {A-Hearts}{9-Diamonds}. Salter was a 60% favorite to win it all right there.

The {5-Diamonds}{8-Clubs}{10-Hearts} flop was still save for Salter and the rail asked for a pair the board. It wouldn't pair the board though, it would pair Buonanno; {2-Spades}.

"That is good right?" asked Salter. No it wasn't. At least not for him. Salter now needed an ace or nine on the river to win it.

He wouldn't get it. The {4-Spades} fell on the river and Buonanno doubled to almost 5 million.
