Salter's Big Check-Raise Fails

Level 31 : 60,000/120,000, 20,000 ante

Hand #112: We missed this hand as the stream cut to a small talk with Jack Salter's rail.

Hand #113: Salter had the button with {A-Hearts}{2-Spades} and raised it up to 260,000. Buonanno in the big blind had aces ({A-Diamonds}{A-Clubs}) for the second time in seven hands. He made it 620,000 and Salter folded.

Hand #114: Buonanno opened the button to 260,000 with {A-Clubs}{8-Diamonds}. Salter didn't have much with the {10-Spades}{5-Diamonds} and folded.

Hand #115: Salter with {K-Clubs}{4-Spades} on the button made it 260,000. Buonanno had {6-Hearts}{6-Spades} in the big blind and made the call.

Salter out flopped Buonanno on {K-Hearts}{A-Diamonds}{10-Hearts} and both players checked. The {A-Hearts} gave Buonanno a flush draw, while it could make feel Salter a bit better about his pair of kings. Buonanno checked again and Salter bet 355,000. Buonanno thought for a bit and eventually folded.

Hand #116: Buonanno on the button found {9-Diamonds}{7-Clubs} and made it 260,000. Salter had two face cards with {K-Spades}{10-Hearts} and called.

{A-Hearts}{3-Spades}{8-Clubs} on the flop and Salter checked. Buonanno checked behind.

The {9-Hearts} on the turn gave Buonanno a pair. Salter checked again and Buonanno bet 450,000. Salter stared his opponent down, before folding and leaving the 1,510,000 pot to his Italian opponent.

Hand #117: Salter raised it up with {8-Spades}{6-Diamonds} and Buonanno quickly folded his deuce-three.

Hand #118: Buonanno had {J-Diamonds}{9-Hearts} on the button and raised it up to 260,000. Salter had {8-Clubs}{7-Diamonds} in the big blind and made the call.

The {A-Spades}{J-Spades}{J-Hearts}-flop hit Buonanno hard and did not much for Salter. But Salter didn't check-fold to Buonanno's 250,000 bet, he check-called. The {9-Spades} fell on the turn which gave Buonanno an unbeatable hand. Salter picked up a draw but he had no way of knowing that even would he hit it, it wouldn't be good.

Salter checked again and Buonanno bet 450,000. With the pot now 1,510,000, Salter reached for the big chips. "Oh dear" said one of the commentators right before Salter shoved 1,215,000 forward. Buonanno flat in position.

3,490,000 in the pot now. The {K-Hearts} hit the river and Salter was first to act. Salter checked and Buonanno contemplated his move. He picked up a pile of 100,000 chips and slid 18 in. Salter folded.
