Big Pot Sent to Schemion

Level 4 : 150/300, 25 ante

We've already mentioned that there is an intense race between Ole Schemion and Vanessa Selbst for the EPT10 Player of the Year title, and if the first four levels are any indication, the Sanremo High Roller is shaping up to play a major part. That's because both players have chipped up nicely and are primed to make a deep run in the tournament.

Most recently, Jose Carlos Garcia opened for 800 from middle position then called a three-bet to 2,200 from Schemion on the button. The {7-Hearts}{10-Clubs}{2-Spades} flop saw Garcia check and then call a bet of 2,600 from Schemion.

When the {Q-Diamonds} turned, Garcia check-called another bet, this time 5,800, and the {4-Clubs} completed the board on the river. Garcia checked for a third time and Schemion came out firing to the tune of 13,000.

Garcia thought for well over a minute before check-raising to 33,000, and Schemion spent an equal amount of time in the tank before making the call. Garcia tabled the {10-Hearts}{j-Spades} for tens, but it was no good as Schemion made a better hand on the turn with the {q-Hearts}{j-Clubs}.
