Nitsche's Hero Call Doesn't Pay Off

Level 17 : 2,500/5,000, 500 ante

Over at the feature table, the last hand of Level 16 went a good five minutes into the break. That's because Dominik Nitsche was contemplating what to do on the river with a board reading {5-Spades}{8-Spades}{6-Diamonds}{10-Clubs}{k-Hearts}.

His opponent, Stephen Chidwick, had moved all in, and after some intense thought, Nitsche called. Chidwick rolled over the {8-Hearts}{8-Clubs} for a set, and it was good as Nitsche went to muck. However, it was an all-in hand so the dealer tabled his hand — {a-Spades}{10-Spades}. Nitsche had a pair of tens, but it wasn't good enough.

Alex Longobardi Eliminated By Stephen Chidwick

Level 17 : 2,500/5,000, 500 ante

Alex Longobardi open shoved under the gun for 40,000. Action folded to Stephen Chidwick in the big blind who made the call.

Chidwick: {A-Hearts}{3-Spades}
Longobardi: {Q-Diamonds}{J-Clubs}

The flop would be terrible for Longobordi as it took away some of his outs: {3-Hearts}{4-Hearts}{2-Hearts}. The {J-Hearts} on the turn sealed the deal and by the time the {10-Spades} on the river fell, Longobardi was already up from the table.

Urbanovic Joins The Rail

Level 17 : 2,500/5,000, 500 ante
Dzmitry Urbanovich
Dzmitry Urbanovich

From early position, Dzmitry Urbanovich raised to 55,000 and left himself 15,000 behind. One seat over, Olivier Busquet called and everyone else got out of the way. Urbanovich checked the {3-Spades}{4-Diamonds}{10-Hearts} flop and Busquet put him all in. Urbanovich called off with the {K-Hearts}{Q-Spades}, Busquet had that beat with the {9-Diamonds}{9-Clubs}.

"I was sure it was an under pair," Busquet said. The {3-Clubs} turn and the {A-Diamonds} river delivered yet another seat open only minutes into level 17.

Bernardo Dias Eliminated

Level 17 : 2,500/5,000, 500 ante

Shyam Srinivasan raised from under the gun to 10,500 and Bernardo Dias moved all in one seat over for 17,000. Pedro Pellicer four-bet to 29,000 and Srinivasan folded.

Pellicer: {A-Spades}{K-Clubs}
Dias: {A-Clubs}{Q-Spades}

The {J-Diamonds}{A-Hearts}{10-Hearts}{6-Diamonds}{6-Hearts} board delivered the hit for both players. Ultimately the better kicker decided over the fate of Dias and he heads to the payout desk for a min-cash.

Team PokerStars Pro Victor Ramdin Down

Level 17 : 2,500/5,000, 500 ante
Victor Ramdin
Victor Ramdin

We have to give it up to Victor Ramdin. At the end of Day 1b, he bagged a measly 9,200. We pegged him as one of the first players to go on Day 2, but he proved us wrong by running up his stack and making it through to Day 3. He began today short as well, but he once again proved he's a short-stack ninja by making it through the money bubble.

Unfortunately Ramdin's run just came to an end.

It happened when he moved all in for his last 28,500 from the hijack and Bulgaria's Valeri Savov called from the cutoff. The button and blinds both folded and the cards were turned up.

Savov: {k-Clubs}{k-Diamonds}
Ramdin: {6-Hearts}{7-Hearts}

Ramdin was behind, but he had the right kind of hand to crack a big pocket pair.

"Eight," Ramdin called when the {5-Clubs}{9-Clubs}{a-Spades} flop delivered him a gutshot straight draw. He had hope, but that didn't amount to anything as the {10-Hearts} blanked on the turn followed by the {10-Diamonds} river.

Ramdin exited in 73rd place.

See You Uulu

Level 17 : 2,500/5,000, 500 ante

Another all-in preflop confrontation saw Eldar Moldobek Uulu shove only to find a re-shove from Federico Petruzzelli. That’s not what you want to hear when you’re holding {a-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds} as Uulu was and the {a-Hearts}{k-Clubs} of Petruzzelli eliminated him when the cards fell.

{7-Spades}{j-Hearts}{3-Hearts}{k-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds}.

He hit his nine but it was far too late after that turn card king.
