Katchalov Off to a Bad Start

Level 9 : 600/1,200, 200 ante

Eugene Katchalov reentered not too long a go and is now seated at the same table as his good friend and colleague Team PokerStars Pro Bertrand "ElkY" Grospellier. Not just "ElkY" is on the table but guys like Kurganov and Nitsche are there as well. It's not just the tough competition that could make fir an unhappy face on Katchalov, the pot he just lost might have something to do with it as well.

Zoltan Szabo opened the hijack to 2,500 and Katchalov in the big blind was the sole caller. Katchalov check called a 3,000 bet on {6-Hearts}{6-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds} and led out 6,000 himself on the {3-Diamonds}-turn. Szabo made the call in position and awaited the river.

The {7-Hearts} made for a double paired board and Katchalov checked. Szabo bet out 10,000 and after some thinking, Katchalov called. Szabo showed his {A-Hearts}{6-Clubs} and Katchalov mucked.
