Khiem Nguyen opted to register this tournament at the last possible minute, and as it turned out he didn't get to see much playing time.
In what was ultimately Nguyen's last hand, he min-raised to 4,000 only to have Benny Spindler three-bet to 10,500. Action folded back to Nguyen, and he shoved all in, which Spindler promptly call.
It was a classic flip, but Nguyen would need to improve if he hoped to stay alive. Unfortunately for him, the flop made that impossible as Spindler spiked a set. Nguyen's only shot of extending his tournament life was running straight cards for a chop, and the turn made that a possibility. All Nguyen needed was a five on the river, but it wasn't in the cards as the peeled off instead.
Likewise, Max Lehmanski, another of the five players that entered at the start of Day 2, was eliminated in unknown action.
