Blom Triples, Courtesy of Bussman

Level 16 : 2,000/4,000, 500 ante
Viktor Blom
Viktor Blom

Fabio Sperling from Germany made it 9,000 under the gun and a couple positions down Adrian Bussman made the call. From the button Viktor Blom shoved all in for the remaining 28,000 he had. Both blinds folded but Sperling and Bussman made the call.

Blom didn't seem all that confident in his hand as Sperling bet out 29,000 on {10-Spades}{5-Hearts}{J-Diamonds} and Bussman called. Blom looked like he had already left in his head and playfully shuffled his two cards.

Meanwhile, Sperling and Bussman were still at it. Both players checked the {6-Clubs} on the turn so they saw the {5-Diamonds} without any further investment.

Sperling checked again and Bussman bet 45,000. Sperling thought about it for a little while before eventually folding.

Bussman showed his missed {8-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds} first. Blom got up from the table and joyfully slammed his {8-Clubs}{8-Hearts} on the table. He high-fived Bussman and the table laughed. Just Sperling, claiming he folded a ten, wasn't laughing as hard as the rest of them.

"Are you friends?" asked someone to Bussman and Blom. "I guess we are now" Bussman laughed.

Updated Chip Counts from the Feature Table

Level 16 : 2,000/4,000, 500 ante

ElkY Busted

Level 16 : 2,000/4,000, 500 ante
Bertrand "ElkY" Grospellier
Bertrand "ElkY" Grospellier

We missed the pre flop action but saw ElkY check on {5-Spades}{J-Spades}{4-Hearts} from the big blind. His opponent, Stefan Zollinger from Switzerland, made a 8,000 bet from under the gun. Grospellier made it 21,000 to go and after some pondering Zollinger made the call.

The {7-Diamonds} fell on the turn and Grospellier bet 37,500. Zollinger shoved all in and Grospellier called.

Zollinger showed {4-Diamonds}{4-Clubs} for the flopped set and Grospellier was drawing dead with his {A-Diamonds}{J-Diamonds}. There wasn't a river in the deck that could save "ElkY" and the Frenchman already got up from the table. In our hurry to report on Viktor Blom's triple up (to follow) we forgot to writ down the river, but does it really matter?

Staszko & Turtiainen Eliminated in the Same Hand

Level 16 : 2,000/4,000, 500 ante
Martin Staszko
Martin Staszko

We missed the action unfold, but we do know that another double elimination just occurred after three players got it in preflop.

Staszko: {j-Hearts}{j-Clubs}
Sepman: {a-Hearts}{q-Hearts}
Turtiainen: {6-Spades}{6-Diamonds}

Staszko got it in with the best hand, but Sepman managed to find an ace to send both his opponents to the rail.

Blachut Scores the Double Elimination

Level 16 : 2,000/4,000, 500 ante

Action folded to Antoine Zeziola Granath on the button and he moved all in for his last 63,500. Vit Blachut called from the small blind, and then the big moved all in over the top for roughly 120,000. Blachut snap-called and the cards were turned up.

Blachut: {a-Clubs}{a-Spades}
Big Blind: {k-Spades}{k-Hearts}
Granath: {a-Diamonds}{2-Clubs}

Blachut found aces at just the right time, and he managed to score the double elimination after the board ran out a safe {4-Diamonds}{10-Clubs}{9-Spades}{7-Clubs}{j-Hearts}.

Marc-Andre Ladouceur Eliminated

Level 16 : 2,000/4,000, 500 ante
Marc-Andre Ladouceur all in
Marc-Andre Ladouceur all in

On the feature table we just caught the end of the hand in which PokerStars Team Online Marc-Andre Ladouceur was knocked out.

Ladouceur ended up all in before the lop for 69,500 and he was up against Russian pro Alex Bilokur.

Laoudceur: {10-Spades}{10-Hearts}
Bilokur: {A-Clubs}{K-Diamonds}

The board ran out {6-Spades}{J-Clubs}{K-Clubs}{9-Hearts}{J-Diamonds} and Ladouceur was eliminated during the first tier of payouts.

Russia's Makarov Eliminated

Level 16 : 2,000/4,000, 500 ante

The short stacks continue to push post-bubble.

The latest was Russia's Alexey Makarov, who got it in good holding the {a-Clubs}{j-Hearts} against the {a-Diamonds}{7-Hearts} of Vladimir Geshkenbein. Unfortunately getting it in good doesn't always win you the pot, something Makarov learned when the {q-Hearts}{3-Spades}{7-Spades} flop gave Geshkenbein a pair of sevens.

Makarov rolled his eyes and watched helplessly as the {10-Hearts} blanked on the turn followed by the {5-Clubs} river.

Hansen Likes What He Says

Level 16 : 2,000/4,000, 500 ante

Gus Hansen just called Zoltan Szabo's preflop shove after having put in a raise for about 120,000 total.

"I like that," Hansen said when Szabo showed his {A-Clubs}{K-Diamonds}. The Great Dane tabled {J-Diamonds}{J-Hearts} and a straight up coin flip was upon us.

The flop brought {2-Spades}{9-Hearts}{4-Clubs} and Hansen said, "I still like that."

The turn, the {9-Clubs}, and the river, the {10-Diamonds}, did not turn things around for Szabo and Hansen knocked another player out.

Reaching the money here in Vienna marks Hansen's first EPT cash since September 2005 when he placed fifth in the Barcelona leg for €78,000. That tournament was ultimately won by Jan Boubli and none other than Patrik Antonius finished third in that event.

A Min Cash For Trickett

Level 16 : 2,000/4,000, 500 ante
Sam Trickett
Sam Trickett

Poker super star Sam Trickett has just been knocked out right after the money bubble burst. Trickett was sipping on a beer with very little chips as he reached the money, and he managed to get them in holding the {j-Hearts}{7-Clubs} only to run into the {q-Clubs}{q-Diamonds} of Ryan Spittles.

The {j-Clubs}{a-Clubs}{2-Spades} flop gave Trickett a little help, but he'd receive no more as the {5-Spades} blanked on the turn followed by the {8-Hearts} on the river.

Trickett recently finished second in WPT Venice and he's looking to carry his good play and fortune into the upcoming EPT events in Sanremo and Monte Carlo.
