Adrian Mateos Eliminated in 17th Place (€47,100)

Level 24 : 20,000/40,000, 5,000 ante
Adrian Mateos - 17th Place
Adrian Mateos - 17th Place

After a very promising Day 2, Adrian Mateos' Day 3 was one he'll likely want to forget about. He lost with aces twice, lost a big flip that knocked him down under a million, and now saw his final chips sent Kevin MacPhee's way.

In a blind-versus-blind battle, Mateos was all in with the {A-Spades}{3-Spades} against MacPhee's {10-Spades}{10-Hearts}. The {J-Clubs}{9-Diamonds}{8-Spades} flop kept MacPhee in the lead, but the {6-Spades} on the turn have Mateos some further hope with a flush draw. The river was black, but it was the {2-Clubs}.

With that, Mateos was eliminated in 17th place and the final two tables were formed.

Astedt Doubles Through Mateos, Again

Level 24 : 20,000/40,000, 5,000 ante

Niklas Astedt doubled through Adrian Mateos once before by cracking Mateos' aces in a big pot. The Swede then lost a good portion of his stack, doubled back through Ami Barer, and now just doubled through Mateos again.

Astedt was all in for 475,000 with the {K-Diamonds}{J-Clubs} against Mateos' {5-Diamonds}{5-Spades}. The flop, turn, and river ran out {Q-Spades}{J-Hearts}{2-Clubs}{2-Hearts}{4-Clubs}, and Astedt doubled up.

Astedt Doubles Through Barer

Level 24 : 20,000/40,000, 5,000 ante

Ami Barer opened with an early position raise and it folded around to Niklas Astedt in the blinds. He moved all in over the top for his last 260,000 and Barer tossed out a call. Barer showed {9-Spades}{6-Spades} and was up against Astedt's {a-Diamonds}{k-Clubs}. Astedt's ace-king high held through a {3-Clubs}{10-Spades}{10-Hearts}{8-Spades}{3-Diamonds} run out, and he scored the double up to around 580,000.
