Fabretti Takes a Hit

Level 7 : 250/500, 50 ante

We found Team PokerStars Online Pro Pier Paolo Fabretti engaged in a hand with a single opponent. The completed board read {q-Diamonds}{8-Hearts}{q-Hearts}{9-Spades}{9-Diamonds}. With about 6,000 already in the middle, Fabretti cut out one final bet of 2,000. His opponent called and showed {a-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds} for ace-high.

Fabretti mucked his cards and watched on as the pot was pushed toward his opponent. This hit puts Fabretti's stack at about 34,500 in chips.

Meriem Out

Camel Meriem
Camel Meriem

As we said earlier, Neymar Jr. and Gerard Piqué aren't the only professional footballers to compete in the European Poker Tour this year, as Camel Meriem was in the €5,300 Main Event field. Unfortunately for him, he has been eliminated, though, and will have to pick another event if he wants to find success at this year's EPT Barcelona.

Piqué Falls

Level 7 : 250/500, 50 ante
Gerard Piqué
Gerard Piqué

A short-stacked Gerard Piqué was all in and at risk before the flop for just over 2,200. Both Nikolay Sharkov and Robert Zipf called, leaving the latter two heads up for a side pot.

The flop came out {k-Spades}{7-Hearts}{10-Diamonds} and Zipf fired out a bet. Sharkov quickly got out of the way, allowing the hands to be rolled on their backs.

Piqué: {7-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds}
Zipf: {a-Spades}{10-Hearts}

Both players flopped a pair, but it was Zipf's tens that were out in front. The board finished with the {k-Diamonds} and the {3-Clubs}, failing to improve Piqué's hand. He was sent to the rail for the second time today in Barcelona.

Deinum Moves in on Kenney

Level 7 : 250/500, 50 ante

Bryn Kenney was under the gun and he raised to 1,200. Action folded to Foeke Deinum two seats over who announced a three-bet to 3,100. Action trickled back around to Kenney and he called to see a flop.

The flop came down {3-Diamonds}{6-Hearts}{a-Diamonds} and Kenney check-called a continuation bet of 3,000. Fourth street was the {6-Clubs}. Kenney checked again and Deinum continued his aggression with a bet of 5,600. Kenney once again stayed the course, allowing the {5-Spades} to finish off the board.

Kenney checked a third time and Deinum wasted no time dropping in all of his large denomination chips. Kenney was suddenly faced with a decision for his tournament life of 16,850. He thought for about two minutes before flicking his hand at the muck. Deinum picked up the pot and boosted his stack to 51,500.

Felipe Ramos is a Man of Many Hats

Level 7 : 250/500, 50 ante

One of the players in the €5,300 Main Event today is Felipe Ramos. A newly-minted Friend of PokerStars, Ramos is a man of many hats. Not only is he a professional poker player, but Ramos runs a premier poker coaching school in his home country of Brazil. One of his main clients? None other than Neymar Jr. himself. Outside of poker, Ramos is a music producer.

On a recent break, Sarah Herring caught up with Ramos to discuss all the different aspects of his life.

Yeskov Sends Engel and Ferrero Packing in Massive Confrontation

Level 8 : 300/600, 75 ante

We picked up with the action to see four players looking down at a flop of {7-Hearts}{9-Spades}{j-Diamonds}. Olivier Ferrero was first to act and he checked from the big blind. The next player to act followed suit, prompting Vladyslav Yeskov to bet 1,850. Ari Engel was on the button and he came over the top for a raise to what looked to be 5,050. Ferrero responded with a check-raise all in from the big blind and the next player quickly folded. Yeskov moved all in over the top, putting Engel to a decision for all of his chips.

In the end, Engel opted to call all in for approximately 45,500 total. The three hands were turned over to reveal that each player hit a significant portion of the flop.

Yeskov: {j-Hearts}{j-Spades}
Engel: {7-Diamonds}{7-Spades}
Ferrero: {9-Diamonds}{7-Clubs}

Yeskov had both of his opponents covered and held the best hand with top set of jacks. Engel's middle set and Ferrero's two pair were unable to catch up on the turn and river and they were both sent to the rail late in the night. Yeskov scooped the massive pot and now sits on about 132,000 in chips.
