Where Have All The Former Champs Gone?

Level 4 : 100/200, 25 ante

Of the 11 previous winners of EPT Barcelona, only Thomas Middleton returned to the scene of his greatest success — and he has now been eliminated. That means, with registration open until noon tomorrow, that Jan Boubli, et al, have a better chance of winning than “hitthehole” does. And that’s pretty slim. PokerStars Blog explains.

Kremerau Bests Puchkov

Level 4 : 100/200, 25 ante

Siarhei Kremerau raised to 525 from the cutoff and the player on the button let his hand go. Konstantin Puchkov was in the small blind and he opted to come over the top with a three-bet to 1,500. The bid blind folded and Kremerau moved out a four-bet to 3,800. Puchkov called.

The flop fell {7-Diamonds}{k-Clubs}{j-Spades} and Puchkov checked. Kremerau opted not to continue, allowing the {6-Hearts} to hit the felt on the turn. Both players checked once more to see the {a-Spades} on the river. Puchkov knocked the table a third and final time. Kremerau bet 4,500 and Puchkov quickly let go of his cards. Kremerau took downt he pot and brought his stack to about 45,500.

Aces No Good for Cody

Level 5 : 150/300, 25 ante

Three players including Team PokerStars Pro Jake Cody and Vladimir Novitckii look down at a flop of {q-Spades}{9-Clubs}{8-Clubs} in a raised pot. Cody is first to act and he checks over to Novitckii. Novitckii bets 1,800 and the player on the button calls. Cody opts to stick around and the trio watch on as the {3-Diamonds} hits the felt on the turn.

Cody knocked the table for a second time and Novitckii bet 2,500. The button called once again and Cody stayed the course. The {10-Diamonds} finished off the board and all three players checked. Cody showed {a-Hearts}{a-Spades} but was ultimately bested by Novitckii's {10-Hearts}{10-Spades} for a rivered set of tens. The player on the button mucked and Novitckii was officially awarded the pot. He brought his stack to 35,500 while Cody's chips fell to about 40,900.
