Jake Cody is an English professional poker player from Rochdale, UK. Cody is one of the very few players in the world who obtain the so called poker's “Triple Crown”, three major poker titles, the World Series of Poker bracelet, World Poker Tour, and European Poker Tour honors.
Intro
Cody was born in 1988 in Manchester, England. He started grinding online at a relatively young age at the same time improving his skills and game knowledge by reading books, discussing hands in poker forums and analyzing his own game. His first live tournament cash was at the Grosvenor UK Poker Tour's £200 No-Limit Hold'em event in April, 2009. Cody placed sixth in that tournament taking home £1,740 in prize money.
Background
Before he entered the big poker scene Cody was studying psychology. However, after a while he decided to quit his studies and pursuit his dream of becoming a poker pro. Cody build his poker muscles by grinding long hours online as well as reading and posting in poker forums, discussing hands with his peers. Consistency, hard work and studying, according to Cody are the key elements in becoming a successful player.
World Series of Poker
Cody first entered the World Series in 2011 and his first shot was right on target. Cody took down his very first WSOP event, the $25,000 Heads-Up Championship collecting over $850,000 in prize money. He added another two WSOP cashes in Vegas that summer and then traveled to the WSOP Europe in Cannes, France a few months later where he final tabled the Main Event. Cody finished the tournament in seventh place collecting €150,000.

World Poker Tour
Cody has only one World Poker Tour cash on his record, but that one is enough to call him the WPT champion. Cody took down the WPT London £5,000 Main Event in 2010. He cashed £273,783 for the win and took home his first WPT title.
European Poker Tour
Just like with WSOP and WPT, Codys' first attempt at the European Poker Tour title was the most successful one. The 2010 EPT Deauville €5,000 Main Event marked Cody's first EPT cash as well as his first title. He outplayed the field of 768 players on his way to the EPT glory and eventually collected the €857,000 first-place cash prize.

Other Achievements
Aside from his “Triple Crown” Cody also has the UK & Ireland Poker Tour's High Roller title, which he won in Nottingham in 2011. Cody took down the £1,500 No-Limit Hold'em / High Roller event for £34,200. That same year Cody final tabled two more local poker events. He came in second at the Grosvenor UK Poker Tour Grand Final's £2,500 Main Event in London collecting £115,054, and then just a few days later finished third in the £1,000 No-Limit Hold'em / Re-Entry event at the Monte Carlo, Nottingham for £31,293.
