Shafikov Eclipses the 5-Million Mark

Level 28 : 30,000/60,000, 10,000 ante

From the cutoff it was start-of-the-day chip leader Peter Eichhardt who raised to 145,000 and Denys Shafikov three-bet from the button to 325,000.

Eichhardt gave it some thought, but eventually he made the call.

The flop brought out {7-Clubs}{J-Hearts}{7-Hearts} and Eichhardt check-called a bet of 300,000. On the turn the {6-Diamonds} hit and this time Eichhardt check-folded to a bet of 580,000.

This pot now puts Shafikov over five million, and he's the first to reach this level.

The {2-Spades}{K-Clubs}{7-Clubs} flop was full of blanks, but the last nine in the deck on the turn sure wasn't; {9-Clubs}.

Lopes Falls to Jensen

Level 28 : 30,000/60,000, 10,000 ante
Mario Lopez
Mario Lopez

Frederik Jensen just raked in another massive pot, busting Mario Lopez after having hit trips on the river.

The action started with a raise to 120,000 from Lopez and Jensen defended his big blind. The flop came down {6-Hearts}{8-Clubs}{J-Spades} and Jensen check-called a bet of 105,000.

On the turn the {J-Hearts} hit and both players checked.

The river completed the board with the {6-Diamonds} and Jensen moved all in, to put Lopez under pressure for his last 700,000 chips. After a while Lopez made the call, and Jensen tabled {9-Diamonds}{6-Spades} for trips.

Lopez's friends on the rail thought that the {Q-Clubs}{Q-Hearts} of their friend had won, but the soon realized that the pot was pushed to Jensen. Lopez exited and Jensen is now near the top.
