Stern Doubles with River Check Raise

Level 8 : 2,500/5,000, 500 ante

We approached the table and already all Dani Stern's chips were out in front of him. The board read {2-Diamonds}{8-Spades}{K-Spades}{9-Clubs}{A-Hearts} and Stern had check-raised all in from the big blind to Dario Sammartino bet of 42,000. That same Sammartino was now contemplating what to do, and took a long time to come up with his decision. After some minutes past someone asked for the clock, and with just a couple seconds left Sammartino made the call. Stern showed {9-Diamonds}{9-Hearts} for the turned set and Sammartino mucked his {A-Clubs}{10-Hearts}.

Jacobson Shoves on Derwiche

Level 8 : 2,500/5,000, 500 ante
Imad Derwiche - Martin Jacobson
Imad Derwiche - Martin Jacobson

Earlier today Martin Jacobson lost a decent-sized pot against Imad Derwiche, but he just got the chips back after shoving on his opponent.

The action started with a raise from Derwiche from the small blind to 15,000 and Jacobson called from the big blind. The flop brought out {A-Clubs}{K-Diamonds}{K-Hearts} and both players checked.

On the turn the {J-Spades} hit and Derwiche bet 15,000, Jacobson called.

The river was the {2-Spades} and Derwiche bet 25,000 this time around and Jacobson tanked for quite a bit before moving all in for an additional 81,000 chips.

Derwiche went into the tank for a long time before saying, "Your heart goes 'boom boom boom'" and Jacobson cracked a smile.

"You don't have a king," Derwiche then said.

"If I don't have a king, then you have a king," Jacobson replied quickly.

Eventually Derwiche folded and Jacobson raked in this important pot.

Reinkemeier Falling Short, But Fighting

Level 8 : 2,500/5,000, 500 ante

From the button, Erik Seidel raised to 11,500. Tobias Reinkemeier called from the big blind, and the flop came down {A-Clubs}{4-Hearts}{2-Diamonds}. Reinkemeier checked, and Seidel bet 12,000. Reinkemeier called.

The turn was the {6-Spades}, and both Reinkemeier and Seidel checked through to see the {A-Hearts} land on the river. Reinkemeier checked with 40,000 exactly left in his stack. Seidel bet 40,000 to put him to the test for all of his chips, but the German folded.

On the very next hand, action folded to Reinkemeier in the small blind. He moved all in for 39,500 against Ivan Luca's big blind. Luca mulled it over for a few moments, then folded, and Reinkemeier won the pot to get some chips back.

Mercier Folds to Fight Another Day, All the Money Once Again Flows to Tollerene

Level 7 : 2,000/4,000, 500 ante
Ben Tollerene
Ben Tollerene

On a board of {5-Clubs}{J-Spades}{7-Diamonds}{2-Spades} we saw Jason Mercier in the big blind check call a bet of 50,000 from Ben Tollerene on the button. The river came the {4-Diamonds} and Mercier checked. Tollerene tossed in two 100,000 chips and Mercier huffed and puffed facing the all in. Mercier, with under 150,000 behind, tanked for several minutes before releasing his hand. Tollerene, who busted but bought back in today, is up to over 500,000 on his second bullet. Tollerene, who already collects all the money in the high stakes cash games online, got over to Europe to collect some more here it appears.

Out and (Back) In (Part 2)

Level 7 : 2,000/4,000, 500 ante

Jeremy Ausmus was playing the Estrellas Main Event (where he made the money) today, but just busted and bought straight in for the €50,000 Super High Roller. He's the only new player to enter since out last update, a lot of other players busted and bought back in as you can see in the following list.

Martin Kabrhel and JC Alvarado have also busted, but haven't bought back in (yet). We ran into Alvarado in the hall way and he told us his neighbor Mike Watson limp reraised and Alvarado got it in with pocket eights. Watson had pocket kings and that hand held up.
