Franczak Looking Oh So Strong

Level 14 : 10,000/20,000, 3,000 ante
Piotr Franczak
Piotr Franczak

Max Altergott opened for 42,000 from the hijack and Piotr Franczak in the big blind three-bet to 92,000. Altergott made the call.

Both players checked on {5-Diamonds}{5-Hearts}{4-Diamonds}, and the {9-Diamonds} hit the turn. Franczak made a bet of 80,000 and Altergott called.

The {2-Clubs} completed the board and Franczak thought about it for some time.

"Bluffing is difficult when you don't rep much" Altergott said with a smile.

A minute passed and then Franczak decided to shove for 375,000 anyway.

Altergott was a bit surprised and mumbled "That's almost all I got."

Altergott studied his opponent for a bit, before commenting "You look so strong!"

"That's my problem" Franczak replied. "I give away too many tells. When I have something strong, people usually fold. That's why I have sunglasses" Franczak smiled as he put on his pair of Chanel sunglasses.

"Ok, ok" Altergott smiled as he folded. Franczak mucked.

Kurganov Eliminates Reinkemeier

Level 14 : 10,000/20,000, 3,000 ante
Tobias Reinkemeier
Tobias Reinkemeier

Tobias Reinkemeier made it 45,000 from the cutoff and Igor Kurganov in the big blind was the only caller.

Kurganov checked on {J-Spades}{Q-Spades}{2-Diamonds}, and Reinkemeier bet 50,000 by tossing in two orange 25,000 chips. Kurganov check-raised to 135,000 and Reinkemeier called.

The {K-Hearts} hit the turn and Kurganov checked. Reinkemeier bet 75,000 and Kurganov called.

The {5-Spades} completed the board and Kurganov moved all in. Reinkemeier, with just 194,000 behind at this time, thought about it for quite some time before calling with {A-Diamonds}{10-Hearts}. Kurganov showed {A-Spades}{6-Spades} and Reinkemeier hit the rail.

Franczak Cracks the Clock

Level 14 : 10,000/20,000, 3,000 ante

We're not sure how the action unfolded, but we do know Piotr Franczak got his stack of 272,000 all in preflop from the small blind and was at risk against Mike "Timex" McDonald, who was in the big blind.

Franczak: {j-Spades}{10-Spades}
McDonald: {2-Clubs}{2-Spades}

The {7-Diamonds}{7-Hearts}{10-Hearts} flop was kind to Franczak, and he shipped the double after the {4-Hearts} blanked on the turn followed by the {Q-Clubs} on the river. McDonald was left with 95,000 afterward, and managed to chip it up a bit by moving all in the very next hand and swiping the big blind.

Feature Table Chip Counts

Level 14 : 10,000/20,000, 3,000 ante

Holz For the Record

Level 14 : 10,000/20,000, 3,000 ante
Fedor Holz
Fedor Holz

Fedor Holz, who's trying to break the records for most hands played in a row, opened the cutoff for 48,000. Scott Seiver in the big blind made the call.

The flop came {2-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds}{5-Hearts} and Seiver checked. Holz bet 74,000 into 124,000 and Seiver made the call.

The {3-Spades} hit the turn and Seiver checked again. Holz reched for chips, cut out some big 25,000 chips, and bet at least 135,000.

Seidel Makes a Big Call

Level 13 : 8,000/16,000, 2,000 ante

Erik Seidel made it 37,000 from the button and Igor Kurganov in the big blind was the sole caller.

Both players checked the {4-Diamonds}{J-Hearts}{10-Spades} flop and the {J-Clubs} hit the turn. Kurganov bet out 56,000 and Seidel called in position.

The {6-Hearts} completed the board and Kurganov bet out a hefty 200,000. Seidel tanked for quite some time before asking "Is this the tricky play you were talking about?"

Kurganov answered: "That is still to come. The tricky play involves more talking."

After a minute or two more, Seidel made the call. "Straight" said Kurganov with a straight face, showing {Q-Clubs}{8-Clubs}. Seidel laughed, showed {10-Clubs}{9-Spades}, and was pushed the pot by the dealer.

Altergott vs. Franczak

Level 13 : 8,000/16,000, 2,000 ante

Piotr Franczak got his last 125,000 all in from middle position and received a call from Max Altergott.

Franczak: {K-Clubs}{10-Clubs}
Altergott: {A-Clubs}{9-Clubs}

Franczak was in need of some help, and he got a little when the {J-Spades}{Q-Clubs}{4-Hearts} flop delivered him a Broadway draw. The {3-Spades} turn didn't complete it, but the {A-Spades} river did.

Hasta Luego Astapau

Level 13 : 8,000/16,000, 2,000 ante
Anton Astapau
Anton Astapau

After Mikita Badziakouski opened for 35,000, a short-stacked Anton Astapau three-bet shoved from 255,000 from the button. The blinds both folded and Badziakouski gave it some thought before making the call.

Badziakouski: {k-Hearts}{q-Diamonds}
Astapau: {a-Hearts}{10-Clubs}

The {5-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds}{4-Clubs} flop was safe enough for Astapau, but the {10-Diamonds} turn presented some danger as Badziakouski picked up a flush draw.

"Pair the board," Astapau requested. The dealer did not oblige and instead put out a fourth diamond with the {2-Diamonds} river. Badziakouski made his flush and that was all she wrote for Astapau, who won a live satellite last night and late registered just before the start of Day 2.
