Quoss Triples Up

Level 14 : 2,000/4,000, 500 ante

Alexander Timokhin opened to 8,000, and Fabian Quoss shoved for 16,800. A third player on the button clicked it back to 25,600, and Timokhin shoved all in for about 60,000. The cold four-bettor called.

Timokhin: {k-Hearts}{k-Clubs}
Quoss: {k-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds}
Button: {j-Spades}{j-Hearts}

Timokhin had everyone crushed, but the {a-Spades}{q-Spades}{6-Diamonds} flop gave Quoss some hope. The {j-Clubs} turn was exactly what he needed, and Timokhin cursed his poor luck in a foreign language before exiting.

Vieira's Chips Go to the Toilet

Level 14 : 2,000/4,000, 500 ante

We're not sure of how the action unfolded, but we do know that Faraz Jaka got his stack of 144,800 all in preflop and was at risk against Joao Vieira.

Vieira: {10-Clubs}{10-Diamonds}
Jaka: {9-Diamonds}{9-Spades}

Jaka was in a bad spot, but the {j-Clubs}{2-Spades}{9-Clubs} flop delivered salvation. Vieira didn't flinch, and watched helplessly as the {3-Spades} blanked on the turn followed by the {Q-Hearts} on the river. Ship the double to Jaka.

Seiver Folds to Final Bullet in Four-Bet Pot

Level 14 : 2,000/4,000, 500 ante

Pablo Melogno Cabrera opened for a raise in middle position and then saw Scott Seiver on his left make it 23,000. Cabrera came back with 42,100, and Seiver called. Cabrera bet 31,000 on the {6-Spades}{7-Hearts}{j-Clubs} flop, and Seiver called. Cabrera continued with the small bets as he put out 36,000 on the {j-Hearts} turn, and Seiver again wouldn't go away. With the pot now bloated to more than 200,000, it seemed the last bet would surely be a shove for Seiver's remaining 53,200, but Cabrera pushed 41,000 in. Seiver thought for about two to three minutes and mucked his cards.

Jacobson Finding His Way

Level 14 : 2,000/4,000, 500 ante
Martin Jacobson
Martin Jacobson

Main Event champ Martin Jacobson hasn't found much success so far in this High Roller tournament, busting one bullet yesterday and then quickly losing a chunk of his reentry stack today. He may be on the upswing at last though, recently doubling up with {a-Diamonds}{q-Hearts} on a {3-Spades}{k-Diamonds}{a-Clubs}{2-Clubs}{6-Spades}. His opponent's hand was already in the muck and the table subsequently broke.

A Few More Recent Eliminations

Big Double for Waxman

Level 14 : 2,000/4,000, 500 ante

Matt Waxman just doubled big through Chang He.

We missed the hand as it happened, but learned some details after the fact. According to Waxman, he three-bet preflop, and then He called bets on both the turn and river. Waxman shoved his remaining chips on the river with the board reading {j-Diamonds}{8-Spades}{5-Clubs}{6-Clubs}{9-Spades}, and He paid him off.

Waxman: {j-Spades}{8-Diamonds}
He: {q-Clubs}{9-Clubs}

Waxman's two pair was best, and he doubled to 500K.

Gulyy Gutted

Level 14 : 2,000/4,000, 500 ante

Yury Gulyy got his last 45,000 or so all in preflop and had some kicker problems against Christoph Vogelsang.

Gulyy: {a-Spades}{j-Hearts}
Vogelsang: {a-Hearts}{q-Clubs}

The board ran out {3-Clubs}{2-Hearts}{4-Hearts}{9-Diamonds}{k-Clubs} and Gully was eliminated.

Sultanov's Day Comes to an End

Level 14 : 2,000/4,000, 500 ante

Max Altergott opened for 9,300 only to have Zhapar Sultanov three-bet all in for 64,100. Tom-Aksel Bedell then four-bet shoved all in over the top for right around 235,000, and that prompted Altergott to get out of the way.

Sultanov: {10-Diamonds}{10-Clubs}
Bedell: {a-Clubs}{a-Spades}

Sultanov ran smack dab into a bigger pocket pair, and he paid the ultimate price after the board ran out {7-Spades}{5-Diamonds}{5-Hearts}{7-Diamonds}{j-Diamonds}.

Updated Chip Counts

Level 14 : 2,000/4,000, 500 ante

Chidwick Eliminates Firsau

Level 14 : 2,000/4,000, 500 ante

A bit before the new level, Vasili Firsau shoved his last 40,200, and Stephen Chidwick put him at risk.

Chidwick: {q-Diamonds}{q-Clubs}
Firsau: {a-Clubs}{10-Clubs}

Things looked good for Firsau as {5-Clubs}{a-Hearts}{8-Clubs} flopped, prompting Chidwick to cut out the exact amount as he prepared to ship. The {7-Hearts} turn was followed by a {q-Hearts} river though, and Chidwick took the pot.
