[Removed:563] Eliminated in 14th Place (€30,280)

Level 24 : Blinds 12,000/24,000, 3,000 ante

Alen Bilic opened for 45,000 from the hijack and [Removed:563] responded with a three-bet to 117,000 from the small blind. Bilic then announced he was all in, and [Removed:563] snap-called off for approximately 600,000 total.

[Removed:563]: AK
Bilic: JJ

It was a flip, but [Removed:563] needed to improve to stay alive. The 7Q3 flop didn't do it, and neither did the 3 turn. [Removed:563] needed either an ace or king to extend his EPT12 Malta Main Event, but it wasn't in the cards as the 4 blanked on the river.

Alen Bilic Doubled

Level 24 : 12,000/24,000, 3,000 ante

Bilic first limp called from the small blind Kempe's 60,000 raise. He then check called 55,000 on {K-Hearts}{10-Clubs}{3-Hearts} and another 126,000 on the {2-Diamonds} turn. Both players checked the {9-Diamonds} on the river and Bilic could muck his {A-Spades}{10-Diamonds} as Kempe showed {K-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds}.

The next hand saw Alen Bilic min raise the button for 48,000. Nabil Cardoso in the big blind shoved all in and Bilic instantly called for his last 460,000.

Alen Bilic: {K-Spades}{K-Clubs}
Nabil Cardoso: {7-Diamonds}{7-Spades}

The board came {Q-Spades}{3-Hearts}{A-Spades}{10-Spades}{9-Spades} and Bilic made the nut flush, doubling up to just under a million.

Ill-Timed Shove By Sikora Results in Cardoso Double

Level 23 : 10,000/20,000, 3,000 ante

Spain's Nabil Cardoso opened for 45,000 from the hijack and was met by a three-bet to 95,000 from Jaroslaw Sikora on the button. Both blinds folded, Cardoso called, and the flop came down {a-Spades}{a-Diamonds}{k-Diamonds}. Both players promptly checked and the {3-Hearts} peeled off on the turn.

Cardoso checked, Sikora bet 55,000, and Cardoso check-raised to 125,000. Sikora made the call and then watched Cardoso fire out 200,000 on the {2-Clubs} river. Sikora thought long and hard before moving all in, and Cardoso called off for 681,000 total.

Sikora seemed to know his {k-Hearts}{j-Clubs} was no good, and indeed it wasn't as Cardoso held the {a-Hearts}{j-Spades}.

Apostolos Bechrakis Eliminated in 15th Place (€30,280)

Level 23 : 10,000/20,000, 3,000 ante
Apostolos Bechrakis
Apostolos Bechrakis

Niall Farrell opened the cutoff for 45,000 and Apostolos Bechrakis in the small blind three bet to 110,000. Farrell moved all in and Bechrakis called for 483,000 total.

Farrell: {A-Clubs}{10-Spades}
Bechrakis: {Q-Diamonds}{Q-Clubs}

The flop came {K-Spades}{Q-Spades}{6-Hearts}, giving a set to Bechrakis but a gutshot to Farrell. The {2-Clubs} on the turn was a blank but the {J-Clubs} on the river sure wasn't. Bad beat for Bechrakis and he exited in 15th place.

Aouine Doubles

Level 23 : 10,000/20,000, 3,000 ante

Akim Aouine shoved all in from under the gun plus one for his last 182,000. Action folded to Nabil Cardoso in the small blind and he called.

Akim Aouine: {7-Spades}{7-Hearts}
Nabil Cardoso: {K-Clubs}{Q-Spades}

The flop came {A-Spades}{Q-Diamonds}{7-Clubs} and Aouine fist pumped. The {K-Spades} on the turn was a bit scary but the {5-Hearts} on the river blanked and Aouine doubled.

Bilic Continues to Slide

Level 23 : 10,000/20,000, 3,000 ante

At the outer table, Sam Greenwood limped from the small blind and Alen Bilic checked his option from the big. Both players checked the {A-Clubs}{J-Clubs}{5-Spades} flop, and then Bilic called a bet of 25,000 from Greenwood on the {J-Hearts} turn.

When the {9-Diamonds} completed the board on the river, Greenwood bet 57,000 and Bilic called. Greenwood tabled the {7-Spades}{7-Diamonds} and it was good as Bilic simply mucked.

Bechrakis Ships a Double

Level 23 : 10,000/20,000, 3,000 ante

On the fifth hand of the day, Apostolos Bechrakis open-shipped his short stack from the button and chip leader Alexander Ivarsson snap-called from the big blind.

Bechrakis: {a-Clubs}{10-Clubs}
Ivarsson: {k-Spades}{j-Hearts}

Bechrakis got it in as a 60% favorite, and his spot got even better when the {6-Diamonds}{a-Diamonds}{5-Clubs} flop paired his ace. The {3-Spades} turn left Ivarsson drawing dead, and Bechrakis was shipped the double after the {2-Spades} was put out on the river.

Kempe Takes From Bilic

Level 23 : 10,000/20,000, 3,000 ante

Alen Bilic raised to 40,000 from middle position and Rainer Kempe called from the hijack. The rest of the field folded and it was heads-up action to the {7-Spades}{3-Diamonds}{2-Clubs} flop. Bilic continued for 40,000, Kempe called, and then both players checked the {a-Diamonds} turn.

When the {Q-Diamonds} appeared on the river, Bilic checked and Kempe bet 115,000. Bilic called but mucked just as soon as his opponent rolled over the {a-Clubs}{q-Spades}.
