Daniel Cates opened for 16,000 from middle position and Ihar Soika in the cutoff made the call. Stevan Chew on the button called as well and Vanessa Selbst in the small blind folded. Pavel Binar in the big blind went all in for 17,000 total and all three of his opponents threw an extra 1,000 in to put him at risk.

The flop came {3-Diamonds}{8-Spades}{10-Spades} and Cates checked. Soika bet 27,000 and Chew made the call, Cates folded immediately.

Both players checked the {K-Clubs} on the turn and the {2-Spades} hit the river. Soika checked, and folded to Chew's 26,000 bet.

Pavel Binar showed {K-Hearts}{5-Spades} but was beaten by Chew's {J-Spades}{9-Spades} for the rivered flush. Binar calmly said "Bye bye" and made his way to the exit.

With that, the tournament is now in the money and the remaining 47 players are guaranteed a pay day of at least €17,420.

Daniel Cates Wins Biggest Pot of the Tournament

Level 17 : 4,000/8,000, 1,000 ante
Daniel Cates
Daniel Cates

Action folded to Kacper Pyzara in the small blind. Pyzara, who started out second in chips today, made it 30,000 to go. Big blind Daniel Cates three-bet to 90,000 and Pyzara made the call.

The flop came {5-Clubs}{4-Hearts}{J-Diamonds} and Pyzara checked. Cates made a bet of 70,000 and Pyzara called.

The {10-Diamonds} fell on the turn and Pyzara checked again. Cates tanked for a bit before betting 150,000. Again Pyzara called.

The river paired the board with the {10-Clubs} and Pyzara checked for the third consecutive time. Cates didn't hesitate too long before he tried to shove all of his chips in. 'Tried' we say, as it took some effort, but eventually he had a grip on all of his 349,000 and moved them over the line in one movement.

Pyzara grabbed a single 1,000 chip and almost instantly called by tossing it in, but in the end he changed his mind and he didn't finish his movement. He tanked for a fair bit; it was obvious to everyone at the table that he wasn't the happiest camper in the room.

After another two minutes or so, he reluctantly swooshed a single chip from his stack to the middle to indicate the call. Cates proudly and full of confidence showed his {Q-Clubs}{Q-Diamonds}. Pyzara open mucked his {K-Hearts}{J-Spades}, folded his arms, and let his head rest on the table. The dealer grabbed the 349,000 from his stack and moved them to his neighbor, Pyzara just wailed silently.

Daniel Cates is now the chip leader of the tournament as far as we can see, Pyzara one of the shorter stacks.

Iaron Lightbourne
Iaron Lightbourne

Iaron Lightbourne just busted out in 44th place after losing an all in for his tournament life against Vojtech Ruzicka. Lightbourne shoved all in from the button for about 120,000 and Ruzicka shoved from the small blind, getting the big blind to fold.

Lightbourne: {A-Hearts}{K-Spades}
Ruzicka: {K-Diamonds}{Q-Hearts}

The board ran out {Q-Clubs}{6-Hearts}{9-Spades}{Q-Spades}{J-Hearts} and Lightbourne hit the rail.

Deadman and Kobylinskiy Go Down Against Palumbo

Level 17 : 4,000/8,000, 1,000 ante
Rocco Palumbo is running hot
Rocco Palumbo is running hot

Artem Kobylinskiy opened for 22,000 from early position and Rocco Palumbo made the call in the hijack. Simon Deadman moved all in for 196,000 from the small blind and the big blind folded. Artem Kobylinskiy pushed all in over the top for about 282,000 and Palumbo instantly called to put them both at risk.

Rocco Palumbo: {K-Clubs}{K-Hearts}
Artem Kobylinskiy: {8-Diamonds}{8-Hearts}
Simon Deadman: {10-Hearts}{10-Clubs}

Once again, the best hand held up: {Q-Diamonds}{2-Spades}{7-Clubs}{Q-Hearts}{7-Diamonds}. Because Kobylinskiy had more chips, he finished one position higher (39th) than Deadman (40th). The difference? (€19,550 - €17,420 =) €2,310.

Wigg Crushed by Soika

Level 18 : 5,000/10,000, 1,000 ante
Anton Wigg
Anton Wigg

Ihar Soika just raised to 20,000 under the gun and former EPT Copenhagen winner Anton Wigg moved all in for 246,000 chips from the button. Soika called right away, creating the following showdown.

Soika: {J-Spades}{J-Clubs}
Wigg: {6-Spades}{6-Hearts}

The window card was the {6-Diamonds}, giving Wigg a set, but the next card to roll off was the {J-Diamonds}. Soika hit a higher set, and neither the {8-Clubs}, {5-Diamonds} nor {Q-Hearts} managed to give Wigg his last remaining out.

"Why you gotta do me like that?" Wigg jokingly asked the dealer, as he exited the tournament area.

John Juanda Eliminated in Cooler Hand

Level 18 : 5,000/10,000, 1,000 ante
John Juanda
John Juanda

We missed the pre flop and flop action but Govert Metaal later told us what had happened.

Vanessa Selbst limped under the gun and Ihar Soika completed from the small blind. John Juanda checked from the big blind and the three took a flop of {J-Spades}{J-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds}. Both blinds checked to Selbst and the PokerStars Team Pro made a small bet. Soika folded, Juanda called.

The {7-Hearts} fell on the turn and Juanda checked again. Selbst made a bet of 39,000 and Juanda shoved all in for, what we think was, less than 200,000. Selbst made the call with {J-Hearts}{10-Hearts}, Juanda tabled {K-Diamonds}{J-Clubs}.

Wouldn't you know it, the river came the {10-Spades} and Juanda and Selbst shook hands. Juanda out in 29th place, Selbst at 1.2 million.

Then Cates called, and the showdown went as follows.

Chidwick: {K-Hearts}{9-Diamonds}

Simon Mattsson Eliminated in 21st Place

Level 20 : 8,000/16,000, 2,000 ante
Simon Mattsson
Simon Mattsson

Jaroslaw Sikora opened from the hijack and Simon Mattsson called from the small blind. So far no big action, but that would change on a flop of {Q-Hearts}{7-Hearts}{2-Diamonds}. Mattsson checked and Sikora made a continuation bet of 33,000. Mattsson check raised to 77,000 and Sikora called after some thinking.

The {10-Diamonds} hit the turn and Mattsson shoved all in for 244,000. Sikora wasn't happy about that and went deep into the tank. He cut out calling chips, counted how much he would have behind if he called and lost, and thought about it some more. He eventually did call and Mattsson showed first with a not too happy face.

Jaroslaw Sikora: {Q-Spades}{J-Diamonds}
Simon Mattsson: {4-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds}

The {J-Hearts} on the river wasn't the right type of red for Mattsson and the Swede left in 21st place for €28,420. The remaining 20 players are now guaranteed €31,480.
