Bernies Check Raises All In on the River

Level 26 : 20,000/40,000, 5,000 ante

From first position, Dzmitry Urbanovich raised to 90,000 and Gilles Bernies called from the big blind.

The flop came {7-Spades}{9-Clubs}{10-Spades} and both players checked. The {10-Hearts} on the turn saw Bernies bet out 90,000 and Urbanovich made the call.

The {8-Hearts} on the river completed the board and Bernies checked. Urbanovich instantly bet 185,000 and Bernies shoved all in after some time in the tank.

Urbanovich had 1,230,000 behind and decided to fold.

Slow Play, Bernies Sliding

Level 26 : 20,000/40,000, 5,000 ante

With the average hand now taking over six minutes, chip leader Gilles Bernies is suddenly trending downwards.

First he tried to bluff Patrick Clarke off a four-flush and failed, then he called a 100,000-chip open from Kuljinder Sidhu and they went three-handed to an {a-Hearts}{8-Clubs}{5-Hearts} flop with Rhys Jones coming along for the ride.

Sidhu continued for 170,000 and only Bernies called. Sidhu fired away again on the {q-Diamonds} turn, making it 410,000, and after a few minutes in the tank, Bernies relented.

Kuljinder Sidhu made it 85,000 and both Rhys Jones and Gilles Bernies called. Bernies and Sidhu both checked the {q-Hearts}{6-Diamonds}{2-Hearts} flop and Jones made it 160,000.

Bernies tank-raised to 390,000 and both players called. All three checked the {8-Hearts} turn, but when it checked to Jones on the {k-Diamonds} river, he bet 575,000.

Bernies tank-raised again, making it 1.6 million and after Sidhu folded, Rhys followed suit with a smile, allowing Bernies to move above the five million mark and into the lead again.

Mikhail Petrov Eliminated in 9th Place (€47,830)

Level 26 : 20,000/40,000, 5,000 ante
Mikhail Petrov
Mikhail Petrov

Action folded to Mikhail Petrov in the small blind and he moved all in. Big blind Rhys Jones made one of the quickest calls of the day.

In the pot of 1,285,000, here's what they showed:

Mikhail Petrov: {A-Hearts}{6-Hearts}
Rhys Jones: {A-Clubs}{J-Hearts}

The flop came {8-Spades}{K-Spades}{J-Diamonds} and Petrov had just 1% equity left. He was drawing dead by the time the {9-Spades} hit the turn and had already left the stage once the {2-Diamonds} completed the board.

With the departure of Mikhail Petrov (€47,830), the remaining 8 players are now on the official final table and guaranteed €60,750.

Level 26 : 20,000/40,000, 5,000 ante

Breathing heavily, Gilles Bernies made it 90,000 and Patrick Clarke flatted before Kuljinder Sidhu three-bet to 225,000.

Bernies folded, but Clarke had other plans, four-betting to 675,000. Sidhu tank-called and the flop fell {9-Diamonds}{8-Clubs}{5-Spades}.

Clarke fired out a bet of 725,000 and when Sidhu folded, Clarke raked in the pot and took over the chip lead.
