No Back-To-Back for Seidel

Erik Seidel
Erik Seidel

Erik Seidel, who triumphed in this very event here last year, has been knocked out.

Ivan Luca made it 80,000 from first position. His neighbor Seidel shoved from the cutoff for 430,000. On the button, Ole Schemion asked for a count but opted to fold in the end. Paul Newey gave up his small blind but Igor Kurganov wasn't ready to do the same. He announced all in for 990,000 total and Luca gave up just about instantly.

Erik Seidel: {A-Spades}{Q-Diamonds}
Igor Kurganov: {A-Clubs}{K-Clubs}

Seidel had come from behind more than once today, but this time around he wouldn't be so lucky. The board ran out a hearty {4-Spades}{10-Hearts}{7-Hearts}{4-Hearts}{6-Hearts} and Seidel made his exit in 10th place.

Down to 9 players now, and the final redraw of the night is in the process of being done.
