Silver Gets Most of it

Level 3 : 800/1,600, 200 ante
Max Silver
Max Silver

Charlie Carrel lost half of his stack again and then also gave up a three-bet to the aggression of Max Silver. On the same table, David Peters tried to represent a straight on the {10-Diamonds}{7-Hearts}{3-Hearts}{5-Diamonds}{6-Clubs} river after Vladimir Troyanovskiy had checked to him, but the latter called and was good with the {A-Spades}{10-Spades}.

Soon after, Troyanovskiy faced Silver in a hand and check-called a bet worth 14,000 on the {A-Clubs}{K-Diamonds}{4-Spades}{A-Diamonds} turn and another 36,000 on the {3-Spades} river, albeit with plenty of consideration. Silver flashed {A-Spades}{J-Spades} and that was good enough to scoop a decent pot.

Smith Wins Two Pots

Level 3 : 800/1,600, 200 ante

Dan Smith bet the {K-Diamonds}{Q-Diamonds}{7-Spades}{6-Hearts} turn for 21,000 from the button once Sam Greenwood had checked to him from the big blind. The {2-Spades} came on the river and Greenwood checked again to then tank-fold to a bet worth 65,000 by Smith.

Soon after, it was Smith at it again and he check-called a bet of 9,000 by Paul Newey on the {A-Hearts}{8-Hearts}{2-Hearts}{J-Hearts} turn before leading the {J-Clubs} river with a bet worth 40,000. Newey gave it a lot of thought and ended up folding, it remains unclear whether Smith's "show us some discipline" contributed to the decision.

O'Dwyer Back Above Starting Stack

Level 3 : 800/1,600, 200 ante

With more than 100,000 chips in the middle and the board reading {10-Hearts}{9-Clubs}{5-Spades}{7-Diamonds}{2-Spades}, Steve O'Dwyer moved all in and Dan Shak eventually called the shove for 70,200. O'Dwyer showed the {Q-Spades}{Q-Clubs} for a pair of queens and Shak tried to muck his cards, but the dealer obliged to the all in situation and revealed {K-Hearts}{9-Hearts} for a pair of nines by Shak.

Fatehi Splashing Around

Level 3 : 800/1,600, 200 ante

Ole Schemion sat down and immediately went to work on Ali Reza Fatehi, taking one pot off him with an ace when Fatehi bet a rivered pair of deuces on an ace-high board, then another, three betting him off a raise.

Fatehi got all that back and more in one fell swoop, however, raising it up to 3,600, then calling when Schemion three-bet to 15,500.

The flop came down {a-Spades}{2-Spades}{7-Spades} and Fatehi checked to Schemion, who led for 14,000. Fatehi wasted little time throwing in a check-raise to 36,000 and Schemion reluctantly folded.

It appears Fatehi is playing as ton of pots and is not afriad to throw chips around. Clearly, Schemion and several others have identified this, and are looking to play pots with him, as dangerous as that prospect may be.

Adding Four More

Level 4 : 1,000/2,000, 300 ante

Stanley Choi, John Juanda, Isaac Haxton and Dario Sammartino have increased the size of the field to 37 entries and Salman Behbehani has also pre-registered but hasn't shown up yet to participate in the tournament. Haxton comes fresh off a 14th place finish in the €10,000 High Roller worth €30,720 and pretty much jumped straight into the next high stakes event.

McDonald and Winter Short

Level 4 : 1,000/2,000, 300 ante

On the {8-Clubs}{6-Spades}{4-Clubs}{J-Spades}{3-Diamonds} river, Sean Winter faced a huge bet worth 62,000 by Raouf Ibrahim with a pot of around 85,000 chips and ultimately folded to leave himself with around 40 big blinds. "It was a good flop, five seven suited," Ibrahim said.

Mike McDonald has even less chips left and played very tight ever since losing the massive pot to Ivan Luca, now on 20 big blinds.

Fatehi Wins Pot; Smith Doesn't

Level 4 : 1,000/2,000, 300 ante

Joining the action on the {Q-Clubs}{Q-Spades}{10-Spades}{K-Hearts} turn, Ali Reza Fatehi checked out of the small blind and then called a bet worth 15,000 by Mike Watson. The {8-Hearts} river completed the board and Watson ended up checking behind and mucking when Fatehi revealed his {K-Spades}{J-Clubs}.

Defending champion Erik Seidel is also above starting stack after opening from the button and then calling the three-bet to 17,000 by Dan Smith from one seat over. Seidel flat-called and then bet successfully on the {A-Clubs}{q-Clubs}{4-Clubs} flop when Smith checked and gave up the pot after.
