Hands #42-47: Kurganov Check Raise Bluffs

Level 20 : 40,000/80,000, 10,000 ante

Hand #42: From the cutoff Ole Schemion made it 160,000 with the {K-Hearts}{Q-Hearts}, picking up the blinds and antes as everyone folded.

Hand #43: Igor Kurganov made it 160,000 with {K-Spades}{4-Clubs}. His button raise was met by call from big blind Mustapha Kanit holding {6-Spades}{6-Hearts}.

The flop came {7-Spades}{K-Hearts}{A-Diamonds} and Kanit checked. Kurganov bet 105,000 into 420,000 and Kanit called. The {5-Hearts} on the turn saw both players check and the {8-Hearts} completed the board. Both players checked again and Kurganov took it down with the flopped pair of kings.

Hand #44: From the cutoff, Igor Kurganov made it 175,000 with {K-Hearts}{Q-Hearts}, picking up the blinds and antes.

Hand #45: From first position Kurganov raised to 160,000 holding {A-Clubs}{K-Spades}. In the cutoff Mustapha Kanit found {A-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds} and called. Ole Schemion seemed to have some plans with his {J-Clubs}{9-Diamonds} in the small blind, but eventually folded. Paul Newey defended {K-Hearts}{3-Hearts} from the big blind.

The three got {9-Clubs}{5-Spades}{6-Hearts} to work with and action was checked to Kanit. The Italian high roller bet 210,000 into 580,000 and Kurganov instantly folded.

"Congratulazioni" Kurganov said while he laid down the better hand.

Hand #46: Fatehi found a real hand with {A-Hearts}{K-Spades} and made it 175,000 to go from first position. On the button Ole Schemion three bet to 500,000 with {A-Diamonds}{10-Spades}. Fatehi showed a pained face and eventually decided on shoving for 3,625,000. Schemion instantly folded.

Hand #47: Action folded to Kurganov in the small blind and he completed with {J-Diamonds}{6-Spades}. Fatehi checked his option holding {A-Clubs}{4-Spades}.

The flop came {5-Spades}{7-Spades}{5-Hearts} and Kurganov lead out for 80,000. Fatehi raised to 180,000 and Kurganov called. The {Q-Diamonds} on the turn saw Kurganov check. Fatehi bet 225,000 and Kurganov check raised to 750,000, growing the pot to 1,550,000. Fatehi was visibly not at ease and eventually folded.
