Geilich is not Amused

Level 7 : 300/600, 100 ante
Ludovic Geilich
Ludovic Geilich

Ludovic Geilich defended his big blind against the button raise of Armando Collado Lanuza and then check-called a bet on the {J-Diamonds}{10-Hearts}{6-Clubs} flop. On the {3-Hearts} turn, Geilich checked and Lanuza bet 5,200, Geilich called. The {4-Hearts} on the river completed the board and Geilich checked for a third time. Lanuza now bet 5,000 and Geilich called after plenty of consideration. Lanuza showed the {A-Spades}{A-Hearts} and the Scotsman mucked.

"You grabbed four 5k chips before the river as if you were going to push," Geilich complained. His opponent then apologized while raking in the pot.

Below are some further updated chip counts as well.

Lecomte Eliminated Right After Dinner

Level 7 : 300/600, 100 ante

The seventh level didn't last long for Quentin Lecomte. First hand back from dinner break, it was folded around to Lecomte on the button and he moved all in for 6,000.

The player in the big blind wasn't back from dinner yet so Armin Mette in the small blind was his only opponent. Mette made the call and tabled {Q-}{10-}. Lecomte had {K-}{2-} and was done when Mette hit the board.

Bartolini Bests Kuiper

Level 7 : 300/600, 100 ante

Bart Kuiper was riding the short stack for a long period but doubled up right before the break. After dinner, he lost a bunch of those freshly gained chips.

Kuiper bet 3,300 into a 7,000-pot. The board was reading {7-Spades}{6-Spades}{2-Hearts} and Marco Bartolini called. The {4-Diamonds} turn got checked through and the {J-Diamonds} fell on the river.

Bartonlini bet 11,900 and Kuiper thought for a while before calling. Bartolini tabled {A-Diamonds}{A-Hearts} and Kuiper mucked.

There's a lot of work to do for Kuiper if he wants to bests his 10th place finish here in Malta in EPT Season 11.

No Magic from Malec This Time

Level 7 : 300/600, 100 ante
Sebastian Malec
Sebastian Malec

Ricardo Cuerda Cuartero raised to 1,500 from middle position and Felipe Costa called in the cutoff. Sebastian Malec, who won EPT13 Barcelona back in August, shoved his short stack for 10,500 and Cuartero quickly called, Costa folded {A-Hearts}{J-Hearts} face up.

Malec: {8-Clubs}{8-Hearts}
Cuartero: {10-Diamonds}{10-Hearts}

The board came {10-Clubs}{9-Spades}{4-Hearts}{5-Clubs}{9-Spades} and the full house of the Spaniard sent Malec to the rail.

Forman Doubles Through Panka

Level 7 : 300/600, 100 ante

Miroslav Forman had just 3,400 left and moved all in when it was folded to him. Dominik Panka was the only caller and the cards were opened.

Forman needed to hit with his {Q-Hearts}{7-Hearts} against Panka's {A-Hearts}{5-Hearts}. The flop gave him a queen with {K-Hearts}{Q-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds} and that held up when the turn {K-Spades} and river {2-Clubs} were dealt.

Forman is still short but bought some time to find a decent spot to shove again.

Kuo KO'd

Level 7 : 300/600, 100 ante
Kitty Kuo
Kitty Kuo

Kitty Kuo finished 16th in the EPT12 Malta Main Event, but the Taiwanese poker pro won't be able to repeat the result this time around. According to Govert Metaal, Marco D'Amico raised and Sirzat Hissou just flat-called before Kuo shoved for her last 10 big blinds with the {A-}{6-}.

D'Amico reshoved with {J-}{10-} and Hissou snap-called with the biggest stack and pocket kings. However, the flop brought two tens and the suckout in favor of D'Amico.

Also out: Antoine Saout.

Owen Annoyed; Makes the Right Call

Level 7 : 300/600, 100 ante

Taran Parmar bet 5,500 on the river with the board reading {K-Clubs}{4-Hearts}{5-Hearts}{8-Spades}{8-Clubs}. It was over to Adam Owen to make a decision. After little more than a minute Parmar called the clock on Owen and that annoyed the Brit.

"It's been less than 90 seconds", he complained. "Or is my sense of time, completely off?", Owen continued.

Some others at the table confirmed his feeling and Owen wanted to discuss it with the dealer. The dealer told him to focus on what he was doing and that the floor would handle it.

The floor man did exactly what the dealer expected and gave Owen more time. He then started talking to his opponent and telling him it wasn't really although he was "In favor of the calling the clock".

Owen then called and Parmar immediately mucked. "Good call", he said as Owen stacked his chips.

The Finns Like it Late

Level 7 : 300/600, 100 ante

Jyri Merivirta played around 20 minutes and then sent a message to the Finnish blogger that he got his stack in with {A-}{K-} on a {A-Clubs}{8-}{2-Clubs} flop and faced an opponent with {K-Clubs}{3-Clubs}. The river was a club and Merivirta was gone.

Two other Finns, well one American that lives in Finland and a true Scandinavian, just signed up in Emil Patel and Jussi Nevanlinna.

Please Hold the Line

Level 7 : 300/600, 100 ante

The table of Andre DiFelice, Russell Thomas and Asker Aloev was waiting for new players, as there were only six left and Asker Aloev had done the dirty work to send home two opponents before. As such, they had to wait for new players in order to continue the action and Jussi Nevanlinna arrived. He confirmed that fellow Finn Emil Patel in fact just played a single hand and also busted!
