Xixiang Luo
Xixiang Luo

Over at the feature table, Guillaume Diaz open-shoved from the small blind and Xixiang Luo called all in from the big blind.

Guillaume Diaz: {K-Spades}{10-Clubs}
Xixiang Luo: {A-Diamonds}{Q-Clubs}

The board ran out {A-Spades}{3-Hearts}{10-Spades}{5-Spades}{5-Diamonds} and the two players basically swapped their stacks.

Armin Mette Eliminated in 19th Place (€19,640)

Level 21 : 8,000/16,000, 2,000 ante
Armin Mette
Armin Mette

From the cutoff, Armin Mette raised to 33,000 and Benjamin Pollak defended his big blind.

The flop {8-Hearts}{9-Spades}{Q-Diamonds} provided a lot of action. Pollak checked, only to check-raise when Mette fired out a bet of 38,000. Pollak made it 102,000 and Mette rechecked his cards twice before moving all in for around 200,000. Pollak immediately called.

Armin Mette: {A-Diamonds}{Q-Hearts}
Benjamin Pollak: {J-Hearts}{10-Clubs}

Mette had flopped top pair, but was way behind against Pollak's flopped straight. The Swiss started packing his bag while the dealer was ready to lay down the turn.

It was the {3-Spades} and it was all over for Mette. The {3-Diamonds} on the river didn't matter anymore.

"Nice hand", said Mette while he zipped his bag, and went on his way to the payout desk.

Guillaume Diaz Eliminated in 18th Place (€19,640)

Level 21 : 8,000/16,000, 2,000 ante
Guillaume Diaz
Guillaume Diaz

Down to just ten big blinds, Guillaume Diaz shoved 157,000 total from under the gun. Frederik Jensen called from the cutoff, which brought the action to Bastian Dohler on the button.

The German, who won his package for EPT Malta with a €10 Spin & Go on PokerStars, went all in over the top for 492,000. Jensen immediately called to put both players at risk.

Guillaume Diaz: {K-Clubs}{J-Clubs}
Frederik Jensen: {K-Hearts}{K-Diamonds}
Bastian Dohler: {10-Hearts}{10-Clubs}

Jensen was in prime position to score the double knockout, but the {A-Spades}{10-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds} flop flipped the tables on the former EPT champion. Dohler flopped a set of tens to take a commanding lead in the hand.

The {5-Diamonds} on the turn made things interesting, giving Jensen a flush draw to go with the case king. Diaz needed to hit a non-diamond queen to save his tournament.

The river {6-Hearts} sealed it for Dohler, who raked in a pot of over a million chips. Diaz was forced to the rail, while Jensen had to ship almost half his stack to his German neighbor.

Four Levels Today

Level 21 : 8,000/16,000, 2,000 ante

Initially, there were five levels scheduled for today or the tournament would play down until 16 players. With only 17 players left after less than 2,5 levels, the tournament directors have changed the schedule.

Play will continue until the completion of level 21, which means one more level after the current level. That means we'll play four levels today, no matter what number of players remain.

The reason behind all this is as follows: due to today's speed of bustouts, it might take a lot longer on the final day. To prevent the final table from taking ages on Saturday, play will resume today, even if it means less than 16 players will come back tomorrow.

After the next bustout, there will be a redraw for the final two tables.

Panka Doubles; Jensen Left Crippled

Level 21 : 8,000/16,000, 2,000 ante
Dominik Panka
Dominik Panka

There was a lot of preflop action on the feature table. Bastian Dohler raised to 32,000 and Dominik Panka threw in a three-bet to 112,000.

It was folded to Frederik Jensen and the former EPT champion four-bet all in for 569,000 in total. Dohler got out of the way, but Panka made the call.

It was Panka who was all in for 505,000. Jensen had him barely covered.

Dominik Panka: {8-Spades}{8-Clubs}
Frederik Jensen: {9-Clubs}{10-Spades}

Jensen's squeeze did not get through, but it wasn't as bad as it could be. It was still a race.

The {6-Hearts}{8-Hearts}{Q-Spades} flop gave Panka a set, but Jensen had outs with a double belly buster straight draw. The {2-Spades} turn did not help the Dane and neither did the {Q-Hearts} on the river. Jensen was left with just four big blinds.

Cartarius Rivers a Better Set

Level 21 : 8,000/16,000, 2,000 ante

Benjamin Pollak raised under the gun and Louis Cartarius defended his big blind.

The flop came {8-Spades}{K-Hearts}{9-Clubs}. Cartarius checked to Pollak. The Frenchman bet 55,000 and Pollak called.

The turn was the {7-Diamonds} and this time Cartarius check-called an 85,000-bet. The {10-Hearts} hit the river and it was checked to showdown.

Cartarius tabled {10-Clubs}{10-Spades} for a rivered set and Pollak slammed his {9-Spades}{9-Hearts} on the table in frustration.

Jensen Doubles Through Luo

Level 21 : 8,000/16,000, 2,000 ante
Xixiang Luo (left) and Frederik Jensen
Xixiang Luo (left) and Frederik Jensen

On the feature table, from the button, Ole Schemion decided to limp in. There were two short stacks in the blinds and Xixiang Luo shoved all in.

His push was for 206,000 and super short stack Frederik Jensen thought for a short moment before getting his stack in the middle.

Schemion got out of the way and the cards were opened.

Jensen had {Q-Spades}{3-Clubs} and was slightly ahead against Luo's {10-Clubs}{9-Clubs}.

The {2-Diamonds}{K-Diamonds}{10-Hearts} flop gave Luo a pair of tens and he even improved on the {9-Hearts} turn.

Luo's two pairs gave Jensen an extra out as he now had a gutshot. The river was the miracle {J-Hearts} to keep Jensen in the tournament.

Panka Calls Down Schemion

Level 21 : 8,000/16,000, 2,000 ante

Dominik Panka kept adding chips to his stack, as he just took a very sizeable pot off chipleader Ole Schemion.

From first position, Schemion opened to 36,000 and Panka defended his big blind.

Panka check-called three streets on a {K-Hearts}{5-Spades}{3-Hearts}{3-Spades}{6-Clubs} board. First for 40,000, then 78,000 and finally 238,000 on the river.

Schemion showed {A-Hearts}{K-Clubs} for top pair, but Panka tabled {3-Clubs}{4-Clubs} for turned trips and took it down.
