Max Silver
Max Silver

Max Silver opened to 40,000 and called the shove of Anton Yakuba for 277,000.

Max Silver: {a-Diamonds}{q-Diamonds}
Anton Yakuba: {j-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds}

Silver flopped a flush draw on the {9-Clubs}{7-Clubs}{4-Diamonds} with Yakuba picking up a gutshot straight draw. The turn was the {j-Hearts} pairing Yakuba and he held on the {5-Hearts} rive.r

"Bullshit hand," said Silver, in reference to the two previous times today ace-queen had been cracked.

"I thought you were going to break the curse!" said Niall Farrell.

Paiva Doubles Through Van Putten

Level 21 : 10,000/20,000, 20,000 ante
Tomas Paiva
Tomas Paiva

Tomas Paiva limped and Jasper Meijer van Putten raised to 65,000. Paiva called.

The flop came {10-Diamonds}{9-Clubs}{6-Hearts}. Paiva bet 55,000 and Van Putten raised to 130,000. Paiva used a time extension before moving all in for 243,000 and Van Putten snap-called.

Jasper Meijer van Putten: {a-Spades}{a-Clubs}
Tomas Paiva: {8-Spades}{7-Spades}

Paiva had flopped the nut straight and Van Putten was drawing exceedingly thin. The {2-Spades}{q-Diamonds} runout was not what he needed and Paiva doubled up.

Silver Doubles Through Tang

Level 21 : 10,000/20,000, 20,000 ante

Max Silver opened to 195,000 leaving himself under 50,000 behind. Danny Tang then moved all in, putting Silver to the test.

Glancing up at the tournament screen, Silver appeared to sigh before asking for a count.

"The choices I have made to get myself into this position," he said. "I wonder if I can get a payjump."

Eventually he called.

Max Silver: {a-Diamonds}{7-Clubs}
Danny Tang: {a-Clubs}{j-Hearts}

There was a seven in the window of a {7-Hearts}{6-Hearts}{4-Diamonds}{8-Spades}{3-Clubs} run out and despite calling for a five for a chop on the river, Silver doubled up.

"What is this bull shit that's going on today?" asked Niall Farrell. "I'm the only one not to double?"

"What goes around comes around," replied Tang.

"Yeah," said tablemate Michael Addamo. "That's just a lie they tell you..."

Jasper Meijer van Putten opened to 60,000 from under the gun and Alexandre Reard called in the next position.

Bahram Chobineh was on the button and three-bet all in for 721,000. Van Putten used a time extension before calling, with Reard lifting up {10-}{10-} for his rail to see before folding.

Jasper Meijer van Putten: {a-Hearts}{a-Diamonds}
Bahram Chobineh: {k-Spades}{k-Clubs}

Board: {j-Hearts}{2-Spades}{4-Hearts}{7-Diamonds}{q-Diamonds}

Chobineh had run into the aces of overnight chip leader Van Putten, who moved back atop the counts with this hand.

"I was so confused," said tablemate Henrik Hecklen to Van Putten. "I didn't see [Reard] was in the hand, so I was like 'Why did he slow-roll?'"
