Pollak Scores Another Elimination; Katz Out

Level 13 : 8,000/16,000, 16,000 ante
Cary Katz
Cary Katz

Cary Katz raised to 36,000 on the button after the action folded around to him and Benjamin Pollak moved all in from the big blind for 900,000. Pollak had Katz well covered, and the latter had to use a time bank card to mull over his decision.

"Okay then," said Katz after a minutes thought, and made the call.

Benjamin Pollak: {a-Hearts}{k-Diamonds}
Cary Katz: {10-Diamonds}{10-Hearts}

Board: {a-Clubs}{3-Hearts}{5-Clubs}{k-Hearts}{8-Diamonds}

It was a classic flip situation for Katz with his tournament life on the line, but the flop put Pollak into the lead when he hit an ace. The turn and river were also no help for Katz, and he was the first to exit after the break.

Eibinger and Foxen at the Top

Level 13 : 8,000/16,000, 16,000 ante

Alex Foxen raised on the button and Matthias Eibinger defended the small blind. The flop brought {A-Clubs}{J-Clubs}{4-Diamonds} and both players checked. On a turn of {5-Diamonds}, Eibinger checked and called a bet of 35,000 by Foxen to see the {J-Spades} on the river.

Eibinger made it 81,000 to go and that forced a fold from Foxen.

Loeliger Survives With a Chop

Level 13 : 8,000/16,000, 16,000 ante

Linus Loeliger moved all in from the button, and Stanley Choi called in the small blind.

Linus Loeliger: {a-Clubs}{5-Spades}
Stanley Choi: {a-Diamonds}{7-Spades}

Board: {a-Hearts}{k-Diamonds}{a-Spades}{j-Hearts}{3-Spades}

Choi had Loeliger dominated, but the flop gave both players trips and the likelihood of a split pot. When the jack of hearts hit the turn that scenario was confirmed and Loeliger survived to see another hand.

Riess Hits a Two Outer to Double

Level 13 : 8,000/16,000, 16,000 ante

Ryan Riess moved all in from the hijack for 160,00 before Jack Salter reshoved from the cutoff which got the rest of the table to fold.

Ryan Riess: {j-Spades}{j-Diamonds}
Jack Salter: {a-Diamonds}{k-Hearts}

Board: {7-Spades}{4-Spades}{a-Hearts}{j-Clubs}{2-Spades}

Salter took the lead in the race on the flop when he hit top pair, but Riess hit one of his two immediate outs on the turn to seal the pot and his double up.

Leow Doubles Up Vaskaboinikau

Level 13 : 8,000/16,000, 16,000 ante

Benjamin Pollak raised to 36,000 from under the gun, and Ivan Leow called in the cutoff. When the action got to Mikalai Vaskaboinikau in the big blind, he moved all in for 267,000. Pollak pondered his decision for about ten seconds before he folded, and Leow snap-called.

Mikalai Vaskaboinikau: {a-Diamonds}{k-Hearts}
Ivan Leow: {8-Clubs}{8-Hearts}

Board: {9-Clubs}{k-Diamonds}{4-Clubs}{j-Spades}{5-Diamonds}

The king on the flop gave Vaskaboinikau the advantage, and when his double up was confirmed after the turn and river bricked for Leow, the former celebrated to himself and collected in the pot.

Salter Doubles Through Eibinger

Level 13 : 8,000/16,000, 16,000 ante

From early position, Jack Salter pushed all in for 128,000 and Jean-Noel Thorel asked for a count from one seat over. Thorel then folded and Matthias Eibinger in the big blind had a decision.

"The first one is good," Eibinger said and Salter asked "is it the jack of clubs?"

Eibinger shook his head, but confirmed it was his favorite suit, then called soon after.

Jack Salter: {8-Clubs}{7-Clubs}
Matthias Eibinger: {K-Spades}{10-Spades}

Salter asked for clubs but he was as happy with the board of {J-Spades}{7-Diamonds}{2-Hearts}{6-Diamonds}{4-Hearts}, allowing him to double and remain in contention three spots off the money.

Thorel On a Million

Level 14 : 10,000/20,000, 20,000 ante

Just before the blinds went up, Jean-Noel Thorel defended his big blind against a raise by Alex Foxen and the duo checked the {10-Clubs}{6-Hearts}{6-Diamonds} flop. Thorel bet the {9-Diamonds} turn for 45,000 and Foxen called before checking the {A-Clubs} on the river. Foxen bet 65,000 and Thorel called to see Foxen roll over {10-Spades}{5-Spades}, which the Frenchman had beat with {A-Diamonds}{2-Spades}.

Riess Doubles Once More

Level 14 : 10,000/20,000, 20,000 ante

Matthias Eibinger raised to 50,000 in the cutoff and Ryan Riess moved all in from the button. Jack Salter in the small blind checked the stack of Riess carefully and folded, as did Jean-Noel Thorel in the big blind, while Eibinger quickly called.

Ryan Riess: {K-Spades}{K-Clubs}
Matthias Eibinger: {J-Clubs}{J-Hearts}

The board came {A-Clubs}{8-Spades}{3-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds}{10-Hearts} and Riess doubled for the third time as of lately.
