Shafikov Bests Sfez

Level 7 : 300/600, 600 ante

Pre-dinner hand details relayed by Natalie Teh and Aleksandar Tomovic:

Denys Shafikov returned from the dinner break with a big stack and Eric Sfez was cut down from his peak of more than 130,000. According to Teh and Tomovic, it was a four-bet pot with an open raise, the three-bet of Sfez on the button and the squeeze of Shafikov in the small blind. Only Sfez called and Shafikov bet 5,000 on a queen-high flop, before check-calling 10,000 on a {9-} turn.

Shafikov check-shoved a low blank river for 35,000 and Sfez, who had bet 30,000, folded to forfeit the massive pot.

Just now, Sfez clashed with Ying Tang, who four-bet to 8,000 preflop. Sfez called and Tang continued for 6,000 on the {7-Clubs}{6-Spades}{2-Diamonds} flop, Sfez came along to see the {4-Clubs} turn. Tang bet 14,000 and Sfez folded.
