Romero Battles With Pollak

Level 12 : 1,000/2,000, 2,000 ante

On a flop of {q-Spades}{7-Clubs}{5-Clubs}, James Romero checked out of the big blind and subsequently check-raised a bet of Benjamin Pollak to 14,000, which the Frenchman called. The {q-Clubs} fell on the turn and Romero gave it some thought before leaving for 22,000, which Pollak called once more.

After the {k-Diamonds} river, Romero studied his opponent and carefully cut out a bet of 60,000, which represented more than half of Pollak's remaining stack. Once the bet was moved forward, Pollak instantly released his cards into the muck.
